I'm new to this group. My husband has chronic bronchitis that comes

back a couple times a year. A few years ago he was led to believe

that antibiotics would help; but they didn't. Most of the natural

remedies he has tried hasn't worked either. Any ideas that would help

him would be greatly appreciatrd. Also my girls have colds--what do

you suggest. Thank you for your help.--Glenda

Hi Peg

Could you please tell me what a Super tonic consist of ? I am just getting

over bronchitis and took Zithamax, and antibiotic and the medi center MD

also gave me a syp with codeine to suppress the cough at night because it

felt irritated enough to keep me up clearing my throat at its onset- now I

can sleep but wonder if additional help could be on hand incase it still

lingers on after the antibiotic is finished which is today.

Thanks for any help anyone can provide

Super Tonic Formula

1 Handful of Garlic Cloves

1 Handful of chopped Onions

1 Handful of chopped Ginger

1 Handful of chopped Horseradish

1/2 handful of chopped Habanero Peppers.

This is all a blender will chop at one time so to geta

greater amount repeat 2 or three times to fill a

larger jar. Also a food proceser will chop the

ingrediants.

Throw in a blender and cover with an inch or two of

Organic Apple Cider Vinegar.

All ingredients should be ORGANIC, but don't let that

stop you from making this great formula. You can use

the mash right away or wait two weeks and tincture.

Place 2 teaspoons in a glass of water and drink it

down.

If you have to go to work and don,t want to smell like

a garlic leave it out it still works but is better

with the garlic.

It is best to start your tintures on the new moon and

to strain them on the full moon it makes a more potent

medicine.

Rita,

Zithromax doesn't work.... I had what you had - everything I tried wasn't really working... called the MD as a last resort....haha....he didn't work either. I understand that lots of people are getting this infection... it takes about a month...or so. Boost your immune system (echineachea) and take lots of garlic and total tonic (in the files) I had to take some cough syrup at nite because of the cough. You have to break up the congestion....drink lots of water. I'm finally almost over it... of course, now we're coming in to allergy season...LOL.. anyway you're not alone... Perserverance.

The name " Super Tonic " seems to insinuate that this might work for more

than just coughs and colds (as do the ingredients)...Does anybody know

what all this is good for?

I got this on horseradish from anouther list I am on.

I will try to find other info later.

From PFAF

http://www.ibiblio.org/pfaf/cgi-bin/arr_html?Armoracia+rusticana

Excuse the formating....too lazy to clean it up ;)

Dena

*********************************************

Edible Uses

Condiment; Leaves; Root; Seed. Young root - raw or

cooked.

The grated root is used to make the condiment

'Horseradish sauce'[2, 9,

13,

14, 27, 33, 34, 52], this has a hot mustard-like

flavour[100]. The

sauce is

best used uncooked or gently warmed, heating it will

destroy the

volatile

oils that are responsible for its pungency[238]. It is

said that in

Germany

the roots are sliced and cooked like parsnips[183] -

rather them than

me![K].

The root is a rich source of sulpher[201]. The roots

are fully hardy

and can

be left in the ground all winter to be harvested as

required[4].

Alternatively, they can be harvested in early winter

and stored for

later

use, they will retain their juicy state for some time

if stored in dry

sand[4].

Young leaves - raw or cooked[2, 9, 14, 177]. A very

strong flavour,

though

nice when added in small quantities to the salad

bowl[183, K]. A

pleasant

mild flavour according to another report[238].

Seeds - sprouted and eaten in salads[183].

******************************************************

Medicinal Uses

Antibacterial; Antiseptic; Aperient; Digestive;

Diuretic; Expectorant;

Rubefacient; Stimulant.

Horseradish is a very pungent stimulant herb that

controls bacterial

infections and can be used both internally and

externally[238]. The plant is a powerful stimulant,

whether used internally as a spur for the digestive

system or externally as a rubefacient[4]. It should

not be used internally by people with stomach ulcers

or thyroid problems[238].

The roots are antiseptic, aperient, digestive,

diuretic, expectorant,

rubefacient and stimulant. They should be

used in their fresh state[4]. An infusion is used in

the treatment of colds, fevers and flu and is of value

in the treatment of respiratory and urinary tract

infections. A sandwich of the freshly grated root is a

traditional remedy for hay fever[254].

A tea made from the root is weakly diuretic,

antiseptic and

expectorant[222].

The plant is antibiotic against gram-negative and

gram-positive bacteria and also pathogenic fungi[222,

240]. It is experimentally antitumor[222].

Externally, a poultice made from the roots is used to

treat pleurisy, arthritis and infected wounds[238]. It

will also relieve the pain of chillblains[244]. Some

caution should be employed, however, because it

can cause blistering[254].

Dear Sara,

The difference between Schulze's "Super Tonic" and my "Total Tonic" is that I use half as much Cayenne as he does and I add a pinch of Celtic Sea Salt to the recipe for mineral content.

One of my "other" names for the product is "Nature's Antibiotic". It is anti-viral, anti-bacterial, and anti-fungal and is a general "all-around" tonic. Because of the natural sulfur content in it, this makes it great for any skin condition as well.

Besides, it also tastes great on salads or in its mash form, excellent to use with roast beef instead of plain horseradish. ;o)

Love,

When bronchitis is that unresponsive to medication and herbal medicine, the

cause has got to be environmental. If nobody else in the family is

affected, then his workplace has to be suspected. However, you mention

children getting colds. Are these frequent, or just happening at the

moment? If they are frequent, then the home needs to be checked. This is a

classic example of a case where an environmental assessment needs to be done

yesterday, if not sooner.
