Guest guest
Lill, My parents lowered theirs with flax seed - I'll find out how much they took for you. I'm have a feeling that I have found the place to get answers to my questions. My Health Care Provider has suggested to me that I use Flax Seeds to help lower my bad cholesterol. Its 211 and while that isn't all that high she would like me to lower it because I'm also fighting obesity, hypertension and blood sugar levels that bouce up off and on. Not high, the highest ever being 156 but she has me on glucophage as a precaution. My big question is what is the recommended amount of flax seed to use. My HCP has suggested 2 Tablespoons at each meal sprinkled on my food. While flax seed certainly doesn't have an objectionable taste or texture it still seems to be quite a bit of seed. Is this the proper dosage and can you get too much of it. I also read that flax seed is also good to aid in helping Hypertension. Is this true? Thanks in advance for your help.Lillian

My health provider said that the capsules create a lot of gas. I'd have to use a different kind of juice as grapefruit interacts with one of my blood pressure meds. And I love grapefruit juice. Sorry if I'm being a pest about this but its a whole new thing for me. Guest guest
Hi, Thought I would throw a word in here. I used flax for a few months in an effort to support my ocular rosacea, rosacea and seb derm. They improved, but my cycle became very irregular. Somehow the flax (in capsules) was messing with my hormones. As soon as I replaced them with borage and primrose, I became regular again. Guest guest
Ahhhhhhhhh Becky, And this explains one of the reasons why I recommend UDO's Oil only. UDO's has a perfect blend of the Omega 3, 6, & 9 Oils plus the benefits of GLA from the Evening Primrose which is in the formula. Also, most Flax Oil is stored in "black plastic #5" bottles which is criminal in my books. Even though the oil may be organic, there is no doubt that some of the plastic leaches into the oil. This contaminates it. UDO's is the only organic blend of oils which never touches plastic. Never. It goes from stainless steel into brown glass containers and then is instantly frozen and kept that way until it reaches the consumer. And NO, I don't own any stock in the company or get any kickback for the above promotion ) LOL Love, Doc Ian "Doc" Shillington N.D.505-772-5889Dr.IanShillington - Becky Wattenbach herbal remedies Sunday, April 07, 2002 9:10 PM Re: [herbal remedies] Re: SURE GLAD I FOUND THIS GROUP!
