I'm a soon-to-be forty (on Easter, actually) y.o. mom of three. My

youngest has been the most challenging, as she has Down syndrome, and

was born with a heart defect that was repaired when she was around 1

y.o. She has some scar tissue below her aortic valve that the

cardiologist is monitoring.

I've tried Phosphatidylserine supplements on her, and they seem to

help. They have soy in them. Does anyone know of other supplements

that improve cognitive function or heart health?

My middle kid is asthmatic, and so am I. I use elecampane, and a

cayenne/goldenseal combo. I'm wheeziest (if that's a word) when the

weather's cold and damp. It's warming up now where I live, so my

breathing's improving. Same with my kid. He takes prescription

meds. (yes, I know), Singulair and Advair. I take Advair, but would

like to try something more natural.

Anyway, I'm glad to have found this group! Thanks for being here!

Have you ever heard of Glen Doman? I did a series of his seminars on brain damage and education. There are many herbs that are good for cognitive. Gingko, gotu cola, ginseng, brewers yeast, kava kava. Also I would get her grooved into using clay. You can demo concepts using clay. I potty trained my 2 year old doing a clay demo of the process. You can also make sure she understands the prepositions. Give me some more data. Ace - L. Sodano Saturday, March 30, 2002 2:31 AM herbal remedies Re: [herbal remedies] Hi, I'm new, too. Dear SK,

Suggest you read my article in the files called "The Dwindling Spiral of Disease". This will answer it for you.

I've had some very good successes in reversing both Downes and Autism.

Suggest you give me a call.

I was wondering if you could give me some

more information...I know a family that is anticipating the birth of a Down's

baby and I'd like to have something more to say to convince her to call

you. They are getting into using herbs

so I think with some good information and maybe a testimonial I could get her

to call you if the baby is born with Down's.

Thanks

The only Downes patients I have would not want their names given out. I've attached a recent letter (came in last week), from one of my recent patients (only been working with her son for 5 weeks) but have left out the names. As far as Autism (another genetic disorder) is concerned, you can simply ask Ann Webb, one of our list members about her wins and successes. I've been working with her son William (Ann has said it's OK to use her name. She actually encourages it for she has a golden heart and is willing to help or be part of a support group for other parents and children). We've had William on my program for 6 months now and his progress has been outstanding.

Dear Doc,

I keep meaning to write to you and keep forgetting, so here it is.As mentioned to you on the phone, I have noticed some changes in J. It's hard to tell what's causing them, but of course this happened after J started taking the DMSO (now 5 weeks ago) so it would be a safe assumption that that is the cause :-)1. about 2-3 weeks ago, J came up to me, put his arms around my neck, and gave me a kiss. Now, J has hugged me and kissed me before. But thiswas different. This was J doing it, and with a great deal of affinity. It was not some habit, or whatever. My first thought was that henoticed me as a person and acknowledged me and our love for each other! Ican't tell you how this moved me, I almost burst out into tears. I feltoverwhelmed with joy and affinity :-) This was the first time I felt such aconnection with the being as originated by him!2. A few days later I observed him in play, and noticed that he was usinghis imagination in his play, which I had never observed before. And 3. a new one: last Thursday I took J out. The sun was shining. AndJ was not in a panic!! To know the significance of this, you have toknow that for months now I could hardly take J out of the house. At theslightest bit of sun J would scream and hold his arms in front of hiseyes, and wriggle in his buggy trying to get out of the sun. He showed anextreme sensitivity to light and wind. In the house I had to keep the blindsshut all day, and even then he's complain of the light. So, last Thursdayfor the first time he showed no signs of panic!! He squinted, but then sodid I as the sun was quite bright. SInce then we've been out several timesand no more panic! Today we went out and it was windy, and ... no panic!!Thought you'd like to know the happenings :-)Much love,
