Guest guest
Namaste, I certainly hope I can get some advise here! A month ago I had several very dizzy spells & went to my doctor. I was told I had fluid in my ear & given prescription to " dry " it up. After several days on meds it just stopped & I finished up the medicine. About 10 days later I began experienceing episodes of " brain fogginess & disassociation " [not dizziness like before] accompanied by chest tightness, cold sweats, & panicky feeling. My Doc referred me to cardiologist [age 54 & she suspected stroke or heart attack] & neurologist [seizure history]. Before I could keep these appointments I ended up in the emergency room following a severe " attack " & was hospitalized for 5 days. Chest X-Ray, CT Scan, MRI, Caratoid Sonograms, Stress EKG...NO reason could be found! All tests were good , for which I am thankful! I had told the Doc that eye movement seemed to be a trigger for these episodes & she finally sent me to an opthamologist on release from hospital. I saw him yesterday & UNBELIEVABLY, he took one look into lower eyelids and said I was having severe Allergic episodes! I have never had any problems with allergies & he said that didn't matter. They can come on at any time & do not necessairily present with sneezing, watery eyes, or other " typical " symptoms. He told me in some cases that hallucinations are even typical! He also said that the best thing was " over the counter " Benadryl, which I started immediately...no further episodes as of now. I have a call in to primary doctor to discuss this but she has not returned my call yet. It is incomprehensible to me that 5 days in the hospital & several thousands of dollars worth of testing did not turn up this simple diagnosis!...particularly since I had just been treated for fluid in the ear, of which I was unaware is a symptom of allergies! Shouldn't the doctor have recognized this right off??? Sorry for the " venting " , but this has really " ticked " me off! Now for the help I need...I'd prefer not to have to take the Benadryl for the next couple of months or longer. [Florida has heavy & long pollen seasons!] Is there an herbal formula that will help me? Any suggestions/advice will be most appreciated. Thanks, r3g
Guest guest
There are many herbal remedies which can help. Of course, it is a good idea to figure out what it is you're allergic to in the first place, as it might be some dietary item that's easily avoided. Or, since you mention being in Florida, it could easily be mold in the home or workplace. Those things can come up suddenly, after festering unnoticed for a long time. With allergies, prevention is always better than medication, including herbal medication. What i have observed with allergies is that the best herb does depend a lot on what the problem is. For example, it seems like many allergies to plastics and other modern chemicals respond well to Calendua. Some plant allergies respond best to Chamomile, but not always. Foenugreek is another good general purpose anti-allergy herb, with the bonus that it is delicious. When allergies are interfering with sleep, Clove tea is good -- generally it's best to mix a small amount of Clove with other flavorful herbs. When allergies are creating more respiratory symptoms, peppermint, eucalyptus, and licorice root are great. Those flavors are also pleasant and mix well with Foenugreek. You should strongly consider firing that doctor. They sometimes seem to forget that they work for you, not the other way around. Guest guest
Hi, I have found that a combination of MSM and a high quality digestive enzyme supplement gets rid of allergies. You need to take both daily, however. Boel --
