Guest guest
Can you advise? A person with PD has heard that lobelia used externally will help with muscle spasm in the neck. I have only given lobelia tincture internally for chesty probs. Is this a good external herb (and would it have to be herb as opposed to tincture)or would it be a good idea to take internally. Or any other suggestions for this problem Janice
Guest guest
In this case I'd use a fomentation of Lobelia. A poultice would be too strong (but I wouldn't rule it out in a severe case), and the tincture would be best for internal use. Guest guest
Doc Could you explain what a fomentation is (I had incorrectly assumed it was a poultice). Also do you think any tincture should be low dosage - he is on medication but I don't know what Janice > In this case I'd use a fomentation of Lobelia. Guest guest
Dear Janice, A fomentation is created by making a tea out of any herbal combination. You then soak a cloth in the tea and place over the desired area. A poultice is created by placing the herbs directly on the area and then covering with a cloth. I can not give you any advice on the tincture as I don't know the meds he's on.
