Hello. I am looking for a list that will be able to help me with a

medical problem I have and your list looked like a good place to

start. I'm afraid I'm very new to natural healing and won't be able

to offer anything to anyone. For the time being I'll only be asking

questions... So, here's the first one. Six years ago I was

diagnosed with an underactive thyroid and the dr's have been trying

to get my tsh levels under control ever since. Well, it's not

working. I am taking 300 mg levoxil right now. The dose keeps going

up and up and the other symptoms keep getting worse and worse. My

weight is skyrocketing,my monthly cycles are terrible and I'm so sick

of the mood swings I could about scream!! So, I'm looking for a

better way to get this thyroid thing under control. Is there anyway

to get it functioning again?

 

I guess I could take a minute to introduce myself too. I live in

central wisconsin with my dh and two young daughters (age 3 and 6)on

5 acres in the country. We raise goats for meat and milk (the

milking will start in the next week!!) and we raise our own chickens

for meat and eggs (and for fun too). we have also raised rabbits for

meat, but we don't seem to like that as much so I only have a few.

We are trying to get to the point where we are totally removed from

the traditional food system. This year we will be working even

harder on the gardens. It is taking some time to figure out how much

you need to plant to get the right amount for an entire year. My dh

is interested in planting herbs too this year. He custom mixes our

shampoo and we make all of our own soap. Well, that's all the time I

have, I've got to get going and wake up the rest of the family.
