Guest guest
I have about a pound of saw palmetto berries, dried. They are probably 2-3 years old. Are they still good to use for a tincure? Also, do they need to be ground/soaked/etc. or just put the Ever Clear/spring water on them as is for a period of time (are two weeks enough)? Many thanks! Guest guest
Hi Nancy, They may still be good, but I'd 'test batch' them first to check their potency. Saw Palmetto Berries can get awful hard when dried and the seed can be very tough too. I'd soak 'em overnite in your alcohol / water mixture before I blended them if I were you. Hope this helps. Guest guest
After I do my test batch, how will I know if there is any potentcy left in the berries? Do they have any specific markers, such as numbness with good echinacea? Many thanks! Nancy herbal remedies, " Ian Shillington N.D. Guest guest
I'm trying a quart jar full - it's looking good so far. After a few more days soak I will blend it and put it back in the jar to finish. My hubby will love the soap (NOT - LOL!). Thanks! Nancy herbal remedies, " Ian Shillington N.D.
