contact dermatitis

I have contact dermatitis from using a new hair product. I have been

to my family physician, dermatoligist, Naturopathic Physician and

Herbalist. The itching got so bad I had to use prednisone. I am also

taking fish liver oils, betacarotine and teas to cleanse the liver.

Has anyone had experience with this and any suggestions to what might

help. Thank you for any ideas.

Hi Scott,

It sounds like you are having a systemic reaction, whether it be cleansing or toxic or both. If it is clearing up in one area and unfolding in another then most likely it is cleansing.

What do you use in you massage oil/lotion? Any essential oils? If so which ones? It is very likely that you may be having a reaction to an essential oil, if you are using them. It is possible due to the fact that you are in this oil/lotion everyday and maybe several times a day. Kind of tough to give a massage wearing latex gloves. If you are not using essential oils then maybe it is the lotion itself you are using. If you are using a lotion then most likely you are having a chemical reaction. Lotions are full of chemicals. Best to use an oil for massage.

Whatever the case, do yourself a favor and do the liver/gall bladder cleanse or the full body cleanse. This will help you get rid of the toxins and get your liver back on the road to recovery.

This is my .02 cents worth so take it for what it is worth. .02 cents.

[herbal remedies] Re: contact dermatitis

Hi, everyone.. I am having a skin problem, recently, possibly due to an allergic reaction to a plant, my massage lotion (I'm a massage therapist), or a cleaning agent. It's not so bad, now, but has been going on for a couple of months.. I quit using the massage lotion and the hands are a lot better.

Well Scott,

You are most welcome and I believe that if you look in the files under Dr. Christopher you will find a 3 day juice cleanse that is wonderful. It should help clean you out quite nicely. It can also be extended to as long as you wish. Nothing like a good cleanse to get ones life on track.

Yes, lotions do have a much better feel to them but you will have lots less problems using oils and you can blend your own. Something else for you to consider as well, when you finish a massage you wash your hands with what? You should use a very mild, organic natural soap. Do not use detergents (dish soap and most liquid soaps are detergents). These are very very bad for ones body.

Okay, that said good luck on your cleanse. Hope all goes well for you.

Thanks, Don Quai.. I switched to using almond oil for massaging. It's too bad, I liked the feel of the lotion better. I liked your comments. I think it would be a good idea to do a cleanse of some sort. The rash on my hands is a lot better, but like I said, the rash has sort of spread to other areas, though not as intensely. It's been a while since I did any cleansing.. Scott.
