Peri-menopause and heavy periods

Hi Everyone,

I've got a friend whose OB/GYN recently put her on birth control pills to

help control the very heavy periods she was having, supposedly due to

peri-menopause. In 2 months my friend put on 20 pounds. She then had her

prescription changed and though she's lost much of the weight, she's been

bleeding consistently for about a month. She asked me if I knew of any

natural supplements for the symptoms she's having. I don't but I told her

I'd look into it. Any help anybody here has would be really appreciated! We

need to get her off the pill!

Thanks,

Ann

Your friends situation sounds very much like what I've been going through as far as symptomology. There are some remedies in the files that I am working on now. One is the Menopausal Ladies Formula. I did try some natural progesterone which I applied in a cream a few months back. I might be wrong.. but I believe progesterone helps to strengthen the vaginal walls. I had that situation for several months.. and as soon as I took the progesterone cream.. the bleeding stopped. (which was a relief and a half!!!) The problem I experienced however, was that it didn't come back..and my personality did not change for the better.... so apparently it was too much progesterone. In any case..... that is one option open to her. Now I am more interested to see how I make out with the formula in the files...play around with it a little bit if need be and see how that goes. Maybe she should try it as well... Beth :)
