Is there anything I can start putting on it to help it. Kristie, Well, don't laugh... but I cured pink eye in myself using cottage cheese. I scooped up the most liquid part in my hand, cupped it to my open eye over the sink, and then rinsed with cool water. Followed up with Visine. Did that before work, again after, and again the next morning and it was gone. The gal I caught it from had been to a doctor, who said it was a virus and there wasn't anything he could do. She'd suffered for two weeks. I've used cottage cheese for years on me and on my pets. If a dog licks it off, so what? However, my dogs never did tear into the bandage and lick it off. They must have felt it was soothing. I learned about it from a man at work who said his mother got her legs scratched up when picking blackberries, and the scratches got infected. The doctor gave her stuff that didn't help. It got so bad she could barely walk. A neighbor suggested she wrap her legs in cottage cheese overnight. She did, and it healed the infection. She said that cottage cheese is an ideal medium -- the germs would rather live in it than in you. Sounds stupid; all I know is it works! When I put it in my eye, it didn't sting. In fact, it felt cool and soothing. But it also felt like something in my eye, so I had to rinse it right out. It still worked. Caution: Never put it where you can't rinse it out thoroughly. The germs really DO multiply in it. Melinda
