herbalist program

Does anyone have any suggestions of herbalist programs that are home

study that would be worth looking into?

Kayte,

It depends on how much money you can afford and whether or not you can

afford to spend a summer at the institute or not. Some programs

require a " lab " which is completed on site (usually during the summer).

I investigated most of the herbal programs and many are very good, but I

could not do a lab on site. The one I finally picked and began a few

days ago was through " Australasian Herbal College. "

(http://herbed.com/) Since I paid for the entire 2 year course upfront

($2,000), I received all my materials at one time. You can work at your

own pace and email your lessons to them. To receive your diploma at the

end, there is a 3 hour test a " proctor " oversees. If you do not choose

this method, the other method is to write a thesis. These people are

very supportive and the program is quite professional, I feel.

Yes, it might have been great to take one of these other programs, but I

couldn't do the summer lab on site. Of the ones available, the one I

picked most suited my needs and limitations.

Hope this helps.

I have a newborn and toddler so I'm not free to run off for a summer.

I'll look at the one you suggested. I want something that is serious

that I can use to treat my family and others. I was looking at the

school of natural healing. I've really gotten great results with Dr

Christopher's formulas. It costs over 3K and takes 3 years to finish.

Plus I need to satisfy the state requirements to be a stat certified

Herbalist so I can legaly do buisiness.
