None have been so loose they have fell out on their own yet, the three the dentist extracted had to be pulled. " Hello Martha... I had advanced periodontal disease and one of my front bottom teeth was so loose, I could move it back and forth with ease. My dentist couldn't save that one, but he removed it and then bonded it back to the front of my bottom teeth. No one would suspect it was bonded. He placed it near the gum line so it looks like it did before it became loose. A hygienist checks the distance they can get their instruments down to your jawline (or something like that). The numbers are supposed to be near Zero, with 1s, 2s, and 3s being common. Any number above that is DANGER. My numbers ranged from 7s to 9s. I had one 10. She started a deep cleaning procedure (down to the jaw). Initially I came in every three months. Now it is twice a year for this procedure. My numbers are now down to 2s and 3s. Each year I save my teeth is a miracle. I was raised by a father who didn't believe in doctors or dentists. I was grown and married before I could see a dentist, and I've been playing " catch-up " ever since. I do not know if just this deep cleaning procedure was all that was necessary because a few years ago, I also began taking a variety of herbs every day, but I do know that without the deep cleaning procedure, I would have lost many of my teeth a couple of years ago (along with the bottom front one). In addition to this deep cleaning, I am supposed to take this special pick and poke it down inside my gums every night (between and around all the teeth). This keeps the bacteria stirred and unable to " settle " long enough to destroy bone. My dentist tells me that it takes 90 days for bacteria to grow to sufficient numbers and strength to cause the kind of problems I have. I am to keep the bacteria stirred and unsettled between cleanings. I wish I could tell you I do this religiously, but I don't. Your teeth are important. They help you speak, eat, and look your best. I'll be 50 in a couple of months, and I've kept my real teeth longer than either of my parents. Good luck, Martha.
