Guest guest
Dr. Ian, My husband posted to you earlier about my dental problems and purchased the herbal formula for me, which I have not used yet. My mind is in a whirl as to what to do. The first dentist I went to told me I needed to have all my teeth removed and get dentures, his assistant told me I didn't need to have all my teeth removed. By this time the dentist had already removed 3 teeth so I was shocked when she told me this. I went to a second dentist and he told me the same thing the first dentist told me, because I have so much bone lose. The second dentist said I could have my teeth scaled and take a new drug called Periostat for over 6 months, but he didn't hold much hope it would work and I would still end up having all my teeth removed, and that I have two teeth that need removed asap. I have an appointment for the 31st of this month to have my teeth cleaned by the first dentist hygenist, they didn't mention scaling so I don't know if this would be as good or not. I would like to know what you think about the chances of me saving my teeth by just having them cleaned and using the herbal formula at this stage of periodontal disease. I am very confused about what to do at this point so would appreciate your opion. I would also like to know of anyone else who has had this advance periodontal disease and saved their teeth. None have been so loose they have fell out on their own yet, the three the dentist extracted had to be pulled. My wisdom teeth were removed about 1987. It would cost me $120.00 to have my teeth cleaned; $1,200.00 to have them scaled; and between $1,300.00 to $3,000.00 for dentures. Besides wanting to save my teeth I have a minimum wage job so you see the spot I am in on trying to decide what to do. Thank you in advance for you advice. Guest guest
Natural dental technology still needs to be worked out. I have suffered from advanced gum disease for several years and have not been able to afford any dental treatment at all, other than one X-ray well over a year ago. So i am forced to do an herbal program. So far, i have found out a few things, which bear repeating here: Echinacea tincture dropped directly on the most painful gum areas works very well. Eating small amounts -- just a pinch a day -- of Golden Seal powder works, but not as effectively. Sometimes that's all i have around. Yes, it tastes horrible, but you get used to it after a while. Never eat more than one gram in a day. For acute gum pain, dab some clove oil on the gums. Irrigating the gums with an herbal formula that includes Prickly Ash seems to work long term. I have to minimize my consumption of cheese. That's the most obvious trigger to problems. It should go without saying that sugar is to be avoided. Occasionally i will have a snack of a piece of toast with peanut butter and molasses on it, and that's nice. Do not use hydrogen peroxide, chlorine dioxide, or alcohol based mouthwashes. Eat lots of brown rice. Include ghee in your cooking if you can. Make sure you get a good dose of protein in the mornings. At this point, it looks like i may still lose my remaining teeth eventually, which is an agonizingly slow and painful process. I don't enjoy eating like i used to, but everyone marvels at how much weight i've lost. None of these remedies have stopped or reversed the process, but they have slowed it down considerably. Guest guest
Dear Martha, Sorry for the delay in answering you, but e-mail takes a back seat to direct phone calls which use up the major portion of my day. I definitely feel that you can save most of your teeth if not all of them, and I say this without any reservation whatsoever. Using the Tooth and Gum formula as found in the files IS the way to go. Of course you need to concentrate on diet and cleansing as I've covered elsewhere. Below, I've attached a success story from one of my patients who had exactly the same condition you have, and I really want to emphasize that there is 'hope'. You can take full responsibility for yourself, and bring about your own healing. Love, Doc Ian "Doc" Shillington N.D.505-772-5889Dr.IanShillington Success Story Tooth and Gum Problems May 18, l998 When I moved to Clearwater in October, 1997, I had advanced periodontal disease. Very deep pockets existed in all of my teeth and I had been told by 3 dentists that I would lose all of my upper teeth and at least 4 of my lower teeth. In December, Dr. Shillington gave me the Tooth and Gum formula to use on my gums. At the time I had a very deep and painful abscess in my upper gums extending into my sinus cavity. I swished one dropperful of tooth and gum formula around in my mouth and within 20 minutes the pain (that large doses of pain medication would not handle) was gone! I used the formula in this manner for the next couple of days along with Echinacea and the abscess was gone within 3 days. Daily over the next couple of months, I diluted the tooth and gum formula and used the water-pick. This was all in an effort to save some of the lower teeth. I still expected to lose all of the upper teeth and at least 4 of the lower ones. When I went to the dentist in April, 1998 to have a final evaluation and have the necessary teeth extracted, we discovered that all the pockets in the lower teeth had shrunk from 7, 8 and 9mm to the normal level of about 3 ½ mm and I was able to keep all of my bottom teeth. In addition I was also able to save 4 teeth on the top, saved myself $1500, and can now eat the raw veggies which I love. I was astounded!! So was my dentist. In a nutshell this tooth and gum product tightened my gums, restored the bone loss and returned the above mentioned teeth and surrounding gums to a healthy state.
