Guest guest
Dear Fahad, You definitely do need the protein to put on the muscle bulk. I have several body building patients and we use: 1. Goat Whey 2. Spriulina 3. Chlorella. These work very well. Herbs to use would be Ginseng (all kinds), Yohimba Bark, Damiana, Sarsaparilla Root, Saw Palmetto Berry, Oat Seed, Kola Nut, Ginger root, and last but not least, Garlic. Hope this helps. Guest guest
I'm not Doc but here are some links. I'm going to try and find a inexpensive source. http://www.pcmartin.com/capramineralwhey.shtml http://www.totalhealthsecrets.com/shopping/displayproducts.asp?categoryid=13 http://www.galaxymall.com/gift/africanamerican/goatwhey.html http://www.totalhc.com/Goat_Whey/goat_whey.htm http://www.wizardofeyez.com/g.html http://www.abundalife.com/goats.asp THE AMAZING BENEFITS of GOAT MILK PRODUCTS Goat milk is as close to a perfect food as possible in nature. Its chemical structure is amazingly similar to mother's milk. It is a complete protein containing all the essential amino acids without the heavy fat content and catarrh producing materials of cow's milk. If you have been around farms you would notice goats are much more flexible and limber than cows. They can climb and do things that are beautiful to watch. I have seen goats get on the roofs of barns and houses and wondered how it was possible. the reason for this is that goats are a bioorganic sodium animal, while cows are a calcium animal. Bioorganic sodium in known in naturopathic medicine as the youth element. Arthritis does not come with old age. It is a lack of this essential mineral that brings on the symptoms of old age. The highest sources of bioorganic sodium is found in goat milk and sweet goat whey. Abunda Life goat milk products contain both quick dried goat milk and the whey. It is the sodium that keeps the goats young, active, flexible, and limber all of their lives. There are no old goats in the human sense. They can climb, jump, leap, and walk all of their lives because bioorganic sodium is the joining mobilizing material that makes this possible. Each organ of the body has a reserve of one chemical element more than others. It holds certain chemical elements so that it is a unique active organ. This principle, known as " The Chemical Story, " is one of the essential principles of naturopathic medicine. Dr. Koenig of Germany, in autopsy after autopsy, discovered that there is more sodium stored in the stomach than any other organ of the body. The stomach is known as a bioorganic sodium organ in naturopathic medicine. When the body becomes deficient in bioorganic sodium foods do not digest properly. The stomach's ability to produce enzymes and hydrochloric acid is slowed down and we experience belching, bloating, and ulcers become possible along with many other digestive problems. Coffee, tea, sugar, white flour products, chocolate, alcohol, and especially soda drinking produces a high stomach acid imbalance that sucks the bioorganic sodium right off the walls of the stomach and colon. This condition sometimes takes many years to manifest itself and is not noticed until it becomes a named disease. It is for this reason that we do not permit soda in the house at Abunda Life. The endless array of mindless over-the-counter drugs like Tums, Pepto Bismal, and bicarbonite of soda, as you may well know, is the wrong type of sodium. Like all drugs, without exception, cause more long term problems than short term solutions. In naturopathic medicine we believe that God provided the answer in food medicine. Goat milk and goat whey are natural food medicines designed to both nourish and heal, prevent and treat the stomach, colon, intestines, and arthritic like conditions. I've seen goat milk perform wonders at Abunda Life Clinic with both children and adults. I have seen people who could not digest a single food come back to health with goat milk. Many mothers have thrown out the plastic mixes called baby formulas to have their children grow strong and healthy without drugging them and without heavy mucus that cows milk often produces. Some people have resurrected from the dead with goat milk. Dr. Jensen told me that Ghandi was always able to rapidly come back to excellent health after his very prolonged fasts because of goat milk. Goat milk is one of the best food medicines for rebuilding the brain, nervous sytem, and mental faculties. Goat milk is one of the finest foods for regenerating the cells of the body and bringing a person back to health. After mother's milk, goat milk is the ideal food for weaning a child. It is the nearest to mother's milk in composition, nutrients, and natural chemical properties. It is easy to digest and is a magnificent bodybuilding food. Its fat globules are one ninth the size as cow's milk, making it easier to digest. If you don't homogenize cow's milk you must remove some of the cream. With goats milk this is not neccessary as it is naturally homogenized. One common denominator that Dr. Jensen discovered in his 70 year study of people over the age of 100, in visiting 90 countries, was goat milk. Margaret Patton of London died at 137 years old. Jonathan Hartop walks 9 miles a day at the age of 136 and lived to be 138. Thomas Parr lived 152 years and Peter Czartin from Austria live to be 184. All lived on goat milk. This is not surprising to some who realize that the only milk referred to in the Bible, as food, is goat milk (Proverbs 27:27). Abunda Life goat milk is not only highly nutritious, but is so delicious that children love it. One 12 ounce container makes 2 gallons or 8 quarts or 32 eight ounce glasses of reconstituted goat milk. Abunda Life's goat milk is so highly nutritous that it can often serve as a meal substitute or healthy snack in itself. It is so delicious that children and adults love it. Goat milk is the number one substitute for cow milk made by most naturopathic doctors for the following reasons: 1. Goat milk is a highly comabtible nourishing natural food for people who are allergic to cow milk. 2. Cow milk is mucus forming to many people. Goat milk is not only non-mucus forming, but actually helps to neutralize mucus. 3. The fat content in goat milk is very low compared to cow milk. The fat globules are 1/9 the size of cow milk making it a very easy natural food to break down. 4. Certain ethnic groups, especially Jews and Blacks and some Hispanics are lactate intolerant, which means that their bodies can react adversly to cow milk and cow milk products. For these people goat milk can be the perfect substitute. 5. The chemical structure of goat milk is very close to that of mother's milk. 6. The elements of goat milk are similar to those found in the stomach, colon, intestines, and joints. Thereby making goat milk the perfect food for these symptoms. 7. Goat milk digests easily making it the perfect food for children, the elderly, those with digestive diffi culties, those recuperating from a disease or health conditions, and your pets that have been weaned from their mother. 8. Goat milk neutralizes acids and toxins. 9. Goat milk is high in healing enzymes and has a superior form of calcium than cow milk. 10. Goat milk is compatible with most Abunda Life powder formulas. Guest guest
It is said to be difficult to accomplish body building on just vegetable and dairy protein, but perhaps not impossible. That said, some people absolutely cannot build much more than they have to begin with. Long ago in India, a medical science called " Ayurveda " was developed. There are some problems with it, particularly as it goes into psychological characteristics, but i have found it to be a reliable guide to the type of exercise that is ideal for each person. In general, and please note that this is a broad generality, many thin people are of the " Vata " type. This means that metabolism tends to be centered in the lungs, and that running is the ideal exercise. If a Vata type of person tries to gain weight, does intense pushing and lifting exercises, and overloads on protein, serious damage can result. This can manifest in the form of gross digestive disturbances, lung collapse, intestinal damage, and pulled muscles that don't heal. Vata people do best eating light, sweet foods and fruits. The pushing and weightlifting exercises typically used in body building programs are most appropriate for " Kapha " types, which are people who tend to be heavy and slow-moving. The third body type is generally what we call " medium build " , called Pitta, with metabolism centered largely in the joints. Ideal exercise for this type is walking. Pitta people are the ones who should consume a lot of protein, and have the most trouble with vegetarian diets. There are a very few exercises that are good for all body types. Mainly, these are dancing and skiing. Green vegetables are good for all three types. Ayurvedic medicine teaches that people should avoid trying to change their fundamental body type. In the USA, many people get into serious medical trouble by trying to become very thin while their body type is Kapha. This can be compounded by the use of certain psychiatric drugs such as Zantac (yes, it is sold for digestion but in its manner of action, it is psychiatric) or Prozac, which can damage the digestive system permanently. And yes, the large vegetarian animals have very different stomachs from humans. They should not be compared with us. But cant do anymore because of fibromyalgia. The protein part is true for pitta...I need to get extra protein through protein powder so I dont need to eat much meat. I cant eat fish because of allergy, so..... I wasnt medium, I was thin....but other characteristics seems to be on pitta on me??? Guest guest
The ideal way to determine your body type is to get educated on the subject and determine for yourself. I have formulated a questionaire which seems to help. And then occasionally you will find some people who exhibit characteristics of more than one type, and there seem to be complicated protocols for dealing with that. I wish this part of science were a little more exact. Is it possible the weight lifting might have contributed to the development of fibromyalgia (FM)? That's a very tough question. Usually FM originates from an environmental factor such as chemical exposure, which can be very difficult to trace. For example, many office workers have gotten it after their facilities were remodeled. I have known a forestry worker who got it from an insecticide. These are gross insults to the system, which in a way transcend the whole Ayurvedic body typing system. After all, ancient Hindus didn't have to deal with DDT, EDB, or Penta. Most Pitta people will answer a resounding YES to this question: Do people sometimes tell you that you're too intense? Actually i don't even like that question because it implies psychological typing, which i generally oppose. But it does hold true over many cases! Also i could see how in Norway walking may not always be such a pleasant activity, given the weather and geography. Even here in the wilderness of Wyoming, i have not wanted to walk on several recent days due to bitter winds. And yet that's one of my most favorite things in life. Of course in past years i've usually arranged to be somewhere else in January. How about cross-country skiing? Do you find that pleasurable? (Haven't been able to do that for the past couple of years due to a severe drought here.) Guest guest
Do you have a good hothouse? Papaya is a tropical fruit, and needs a temperature constantly above 25 degrees C. in order to survive. If you do manage to grow it there, i definitely would like to know about it. The fact that so many things are unavailable in Norway is sad. I thought it was a rather enlightened country in so many ways, and to find that they highly regulate available foods is a disappointment. Maybe some of us on this list need to develop a sort of " underground railroad " to get foods and medicines into Norway. Guest guest
I first observed this with a very close friend who was on Prozac for 6 months in 1990. After that, she suffered increasingly from dramatic digestive disturbances. So i did a little digging into how this drug works. It's common knowledge that Prozac artificially holds serotonin, a key nerve transmitter, out on nerve cells longer than usual. That's its main action, and i was unable to find any psychiatric reference that would explain exactly WHY this would result in people sometimes feeling relief from various mental problems. (Eventually, i wrote up what appears to be happening, but probably most psychiatrists would not like what was said in that document.) What is not so common is the knowledge that serotonin, while playing a key role in how impulses are transmitted along gaps in nerve cell lines, also plays a key role in the regulation of histamines. This is difficult for anyone, even a top-notch biochemist, to understand. That's because there are several other digestive system chemicals that interact with histamines in a complex manner. These interactions in turn regulate the digestive system in specific ways. In 1998, i predicted that eventually the phenomenon of Prozac (and its relatives) having a negative impact on digestion would be recognized. Late in 1999, a study came out from Spain that showed increased incidence of intestinal bleeding among Prozac users. So there is at least some vindication here. Since the initial observation, i have seen several other cases where this appears to have happened. Unfortunately, it is the nature of current medical practice to treat body systems as if they were in isolation from each other. So any cause-effect relationship is going to be difficult to spot in many cases. What list members can do, is to look around and see if former users of the SSRI drugs (Prozac, Luvox, Celexa, Paxil, and Zoloft are the most well-known) are experiencing mysterious digestive problems. I'm not yet sure how the chemical interactions can be restored to their previous configurations, but at least we can spot possible allergy patterns in these cases and get people on to diets that they can tolerate. My friend, who remains close, has never completely recovered all her digestive functions. But by sticking to a dairy and wheat free diet, she is in very good health these days. At 12:16 PM 1/14/02 -0800, you wrote: >Just curious, I haven't heard about Prozac damaging the digestive system >before. Guest guest
Wow! Fascinating, Michael! Thank you so much for the information. I find it really interesting because I spent 1.5 years on Prozac. I've been off it for almost 5 years now but because I'd been having so many digestive problems, I went to see a naturopathic doctor and had one of those saliva tests done to test my secretory IgA. This was about 8 months ago. The test indicated that my overall intestinal lining health was about 65% below the norm. I also had massive candida overgrowth. I've since cut all wheat, dairy, soy, corn, and sugar (or at least try like hell with the sugar out of my diet. I also took and still take a lot of supplements for the candida and have had much success. I'm still dealing with the problems but upon retesting a couple of weeks ago it looks like I'm about half way back to being 'normal'. My first inclination wasn't to nail the blame on the prozac, though, since I spent many years pumping other non-prescribed chemicals into body. Hmm, again, fascinating! Thanks.
