Guest guest
---- Your problem sounds familiar, joint pain and inflamation and the elevated RA factor. I had the same thing. Would go to the Dr. and it would be very elevated then next time normal. Through a series of trial and error I found out what the problem was on my own. I am allergic to everything in the Nightshade family. Tomatoes, potatoes, cayenne pepper, eggplant, and a few more. If I eat these I get horrible joint aches which can get so bad it feels like they are full of ground glass. You might want to try avoiding these items for a few days and see if it helps. Guest guest
Thanks, Rhy....I have considerd keeping a food log to see if there was some sort of connection there. Thing is, I had these same symptoms 5 years ago, they lasted 3 months and then disappeared. Now they are back, and so far it has been about 2-1/ months. I have not changed my diet in any way in the last 5 years.... Guest guest
Dear Linda, I know of a few patients who've had it from some real pros (a lady in Scottsdale AZ is world famous) and they swear by it. I think any kind of body work is essential if your sick, but this is supposed to be one of the better ones. I'd love to hear if any of the rest of the list members have tried it. Love, Doc Ian "Doc" Shillington N.D.505-772-5889Dr.IanShillington - doucanoe1994 herbal remedies Tuesday, January 08, 2002 8:36 AM [herbal remedies] Anyone tried Shiatsu? Hello again....I am the person with the terrible joint pain and inflammation. My son thinks I should try accupuncture, and an acquaintance of mine has a Shiatsu clinic. I am going to try shiatsu tonight to see if I get any relief, just wondering if anyone here has tried and/or had any success with this kind of treatment for arthritis or other ailments. One other thing I want to throw out here....I went to the doctor again on Friday....he once again gave me prescriptions for two kinds of pills....(surprise). I asked them to test me for "Fifth disease" (parvovirus B19), he reluctantly agreed to give me the test, but he said he doubted that is my problem because my "RA factor" (the blood test for rheumatological conditions) came back at 383, and a normal persons RA factor is usually around 20. I think he misread this number....that seems too far off the charts to me. What do you all think?Linda
Guest guest
I have only had one treatment and if nothing else it was a nice massage! I will tell you that it may or may not be a coincidence because I do have good days and very bad days, but the first night after the Shiatsu treatment I was in so much pain I was in tears. The next morning I was very stiff and sore but as the day went on I could feel it getting a bit better (I took none of the pills ths doctor gave me this day). That night I experienced some pain and discomfort, and woke up stiff yesterday morning, but by noon.....I was in NO PAIN! Last night I slept like a baby and today I have very little discomfort. Again, let me reiterate, I have had days of excruciating pain followed by days of relatively little pain so this may just be a cycle....but I am definitely going to follow up with the Shiatsu. Beats taking steroids and other drugs that ultimatley cause other problems down the road. Will keep you posted. Linda In herbal remedies, " Ian Shillington N.D.
