Guest guest
My homemade echinacea tincture is ready and waiting. Question; Should I take this with water or straight? Should it be left under the tongue or just bolted straight down? Also, I have not pressed it yet. Can I just use the liquid on the top or does it have to be pressed? Thank you. And it's supposed to be 2 dropperfuls 3 times a day--right? pj Send your FREE holiday greetings online! http://greetings.
Guest guest
Dear PJ, Welcome to the wonderful world of being fully responsible for your own health. I think it is awesome that you've finally made your own. To answer your questions: 1. Taken straight is absolute best but putting it in juice is OK especially for children. 2. Under the tongue is un-necessary, and if you hold it in your mouth for about 10 seconds this will work well. 3. Best bet is to press it right away as then you'll be squeezing all the goodness out into your bottle and have all the goodies fully available. Don't let that stop you in a pinch though. If someone should come walking in the door half dead with a fever, give them a shot glass full right off the top, and then press it ;o) And, 4. Yes, 2 dropperfuls, 3 times a day is the average dosage. Remember that a dropperful only goes half way up the dropper tube. It is approximately 35 to 36 drops.
