Guest guest
I've seen the seeds for Greek Oregano on the web in seed sites. If we grow the plants, could we get medicinal use from them? Or would it take a kazillion plants to produce anything helpful? Does anyone have any idea of how to go about this by growing your own? TIA, Melinda

Hi I grow Greek Oregano in my herb garden. I live in a cold climate and it comes back as a perennial. It grows into a pretty good size bush. I harvest the leaves. Very easy to grow. Guest guest
Hi Cindy Thanks for your prompt answer. What's a " cold climate " ? Would this be good to grow in western Washington, with all the rain, do you think? What do you do with the leaves? Do you end up with a potent product? What have you used it for? Thanks! Guest guest
I have greek oregano in my herb garden in the mid-Atlantic states (planted about three years ago) and it is constantly on the verge of taking over. So my opinion is that it can grow in cool/temperate climates, anyway. --- Cindy <cmofames wrote: > > --- iris054 <clicker wrote: > Does anyone > > have any idea of how to go about this by growing > > your own? > > Hi > I grow Greek Oregano in my herb garden. Guest guest
Hi Melinda I just meant that oregano grows well in most any climate if it can survive an Iowa winter! I would think it would be fine in Washington. I use the leaves as an herb. I haven't tinctured it, I usually dry it. It is my favorite herb to cook with. I think you can use the flowers too but I'm not positive. I think there are others on the list that could tell you more about the medicinal properties. Merry Christmas!
