Also, with recurrent gastroentitis, I'd look at the blood type food lists ( " Eat Right 4 Your Type " book by Dr. Peter D'Adamo). I had horrible indigestion and reflux heartburn frequently. The antacid pills the drugstore sold and the doctor prescribed were only temporary help... what we refer to as " Band-Aid Therapy " in my family. They masked the problem, but didn't really fix anything. In fact, antacids brought me rebound action. The cure, for me, was to stop eating foods that irritated my system. For me (blood type AB) beef, chicken, pork, corn, shellfish, halibut, bananas, oranges, black tea, black olives and vinegar were big problems. I cut out from my diet the foods D'Adamo said I should avoid, and a lot of problems disappeared within a few days, among them stomach problems, post nasal drip, itchy skin, eczema (blisters on my feet); the back and neck pain that had been attributed to fibromyalgia also greatly reduced, and my fingernails stopped breaking so often; in time my toenail fungus also disappeared without treatment. If I eat offending foods, I get the problems back within a day. Melinda
