Guest guest
I am a fairly new member to this list and have been quietly lurking. I am hoping that I can find some information on a natural remedy to help my daughter. Her story is long, please bear with me. She is almost 4 years old and was born with a rare form of dwarfism complicated by severe respiratory issues. She has malacia of all of her airways and although it is classified as moderate-severe, she has been able to "get by" without a tracheotomy. However, since birth, whenever she gets a cold of any kind it always goes into a secondary pneumonia. Modern medicine wants to always treat this with heavy duty drugs, ie; steroids. Although I understand the need for the steroids at her more acute times, I am hoping to find a natural/herbal way to boost her immune system as well as support her through a bug so that we do not have to go the steroid route. I know I don't have to convince anyone here that the side effects of steroids on a little one are pretty severe. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Guest guest
Dear Mary Beth, The handling of this situation would require a lengthy discussion between the two of us. Suggest you give me a call. Love, Doc Ian "Doc" Shillington N.D.505-772-5889Dr.IanShillington I am a fairly new member to this list and have been quietly lurking. Guest guest
Eucalyptus is one of the best herbs for drying out airways in general, and i think it would be safe for such a young person. Also check your environment. Some areas around Seattle have serious moisture, mold, and even protozoan problems. There may be a geobiological factor. I know some of the islands are especially intense. Planting eucalyptus trees around a home can in some cases alleviate excess moisture. It's really a radical remedy. There are other plants that might help too, but i would have to see the place to know for sure.
