Hi Marit...

Thank you for your lovely letter. Your tip on the nettle was much appreciated. I will try some. I remember having purchased that herb about 6 years ago.. then got involved in a location move and quite a bit more...so never got around to using it. Do you belong to any MCS/CFS/ chemical injury lists? There are two good ones that I know of if you're interested I can send you the info. Both are like this one.. sharing information and support.

A quick little story about my fibromyalgia that you might find interesting. By 1995 I was in so much pain (from inflammation I was told)..I had regressed to using a cane. My house in New York at the time was a very toxic place though I didn't know anything about all of that.... yet. I remember like yesterday ... how I would go into my office where I had all pressedwood furniture ... and my computer...spend about an hour or two in there.....and when I got up from my chair went down on the floor like a rock. I would crawl to the bathroom..then into the tub...and take a bath. Eventually I would get back some of my ability to walk by the next day. Then as time went on.. I started to get rid of that toxic furniture.. and stay off the computer (was very IMF sensitive at one time). When we threw out the furniture and I started getting rid of toxic chemicals in my home.. I was able to walk again. To this day.. I stay far away from formaldehyde for one. I know how bazaar this all sounds because it took me a long time to believe what was going on myself.. but the proof is in my recovery. I can walk for miles.. and use my treadmill and bicycle daily. My most prevalent CFS symptoms to date are viral flareups..and some neurological problems ... especially if I don't get enough restorative sleep or I get run down. My point being that before I learned about living differently...I was very sick all the time.. with just about all the CFS symptoms. As far as chemical intolerance's they are quite strong still.. but not as overwhelming as a few years back. I keep trying to remind myself it takes time for our bodes to heal. I keep a very fragrance free home and use only products I can tolerate in here obviously. It is only this past year and a half that I am able to go out food shopping for example. I can tolerate now some buildings some of the time..for an hour or so.. This is a VERY big deal from where I was. I do miss more than I can say here but find it very encouraging that I have made such immense progress. I do have a long way to go and hope I can be patient with myself. That seems to be the most difficult part. I agree that trying one herb at a time is necessary until at least I am sure I don't have any reactions to it.

I tried MSN a couple of years ago a few different brands but it never agreed with me. Not sure I'm ready to swallow a whole garlic clove...but I'll keep it in mind :) Wouldn't that cause terrible heartburn if you're prone to it?

You're so right that it is a tough situation most don't seem to understand. I find most of my solace with my cats and my music :)

I have found out the hard way that mainstream medicine seems to be the kiss of death! I hope you have a support system..family? a couple of good friends? In any case...you can always write me. I may be a little slow getting back some of the time.. but I most definitely will!

Take care.. Beth :)
