But does that mean that the person so titled s to a particular philosophy or school of healing? Specifically I am wondering if it has anything to do with Natural Hygiene. Again, just curious. Guest guest Posted December 9, 2001 Report Share Posted December 9, 2001 Tough question. Actually, a Homeopath is a Naturopath. An Accupuncturist is a Naturopath. A Kinesiologist is a Naturopath. A Natural Hygienist is a Naturopath. Even a Chiropractor is a Naturopath. Etc. etc. etc. There are many schools of thought on the subject and in the past it has been very loosly applied to many subjects. It was one of those areas (shades of grey) that I felt it necessary to resolve in my own research which is why I refined the definition a few years ago. Many times one can resolve a problem or series of problems if one has the correct definition for the problem or for the solution. A correct definition can all by itself lead to a resolution. My refinement of the definition of Naturopathy is as follows: Naturopathy n. the science or art of treating disease by addressing the CAUSE, using Laughter, Nutrition, Bio-Chemistry, Exercise, Sunlight, Clean Air, Pure Water, Massage, Hydrotherapy (Hot & Cold), Prayer, Correct Psychotherapy (does NOT include the perverted subjects of Psychiatry or Psychology), Meditation, Lifestyle, and correcting the imbalances found.
