Guest guest
Hi Bea, since you mentioned all the 'crud' they put into dog food, I have to tell you this story! My son (14) told me he had to buy a Christmas present for one of his co-workers. Guess what he got him, (supposed to be a gag gift) a box of Milk Bone dog biscuits! He says this guy actually eats them and likes them. YUCK!! I told him to read the label. Disgusting to say the least. I tried to get him to let me make some dog biscuits but he said NO, he likes them. Welcome to the group! Patty
Guest guest
Hi all, I've been lurking for a couple of weeks now and decided it's about time I became an actual member of the group. First, I would like to say you are a wonderful and very informative group. My name is Beatrice, I prefer Bea. I'm 25 years old and am pretty new to herbal remedies and natural health in general. My curiosity with natural health began with me dogs, who are my babies. Two Great Danes and a Japanese Chin, I refer to them as the Bears. Anyway, I was doing research on all of the crud they put into dog food and was just appalled!! Even the expensive " Name Brands " had these horrible things in their dog food. So I went on a search for the most nutritious dog food, when I finally realized it wasn't a dog food I needed but a completely new diet. I turned to BARF and it has been a miracle. After seeing the dramatic changes in the Bears I thought how funny it was that my dogs now had a better diet then myself. So I started doing research on nutrition for myself. I started to realize that the same foods and herbs I gave my dogs were ultimately what I should be eating too (with the exception of the Raw Meats, and Raw Meaty Bones!). So to make a long story short did a complete overhaul on my diet beginning with a 3-day juice fast to aid in cleaning the toxins out of my system. After doing this, I decided I wasn't going to contaminate my body with medicinal chemicals any longer, so I joined this group with hopes of finding remedies for the everyday aches, pains and ailments of life (i.e. headaches, which I haven't had since I changed my diet, joint pain, cold and flu systems, etc.). I have some questions, but I'll ask in another post. Bea Email: bhurd
