Guest guest
Hi all, What's the difference in these two? Also, how good is tincture made with the herb vs tincture made with the root? Thanks, Ann in Memphis
Guest guest
Dear Ann, Angustifolia is the American standard and is my own personal preference. Purpurea is the European standard and is supposedly just as potent and just good. I've used both (sometimes in the same tincture) and have had great results from either. A tincture made with the root is more potent and higher in biochemical properties than from the rest of the plant. I use the stems, flowers, and leaves in my Echinacea tea which tastes great. I only use the roots for my tinctures. Hope this helps.
