Guest guest
Namaste, Thanks for your reply. I do know that I am a naturally heavy " type " , but have always been " to heavy " . I am currently at 205 lbs - 5 " 5 " I am heavy boned (Dr. says) & carry most of my weight in my broad hips, butt & thighs. Small busted and much thinner through neck and top. Classic " pear shape " . My goal weight is 155 lbs. I will never be a " skinny minnie " & have no wish to be so I've been slowly losing weight since May & have lost 39 lbs, so I am doing this slowly & by eating right & exercising. NO drugs or crazy diets. Just that this plateau stage seems to be dragging on an inordinate length of time! I am quite busy getting ready for a holiday trip & plan to use the information I've gotten here after New Years. [The cleanse & starting on Total Nutrition Formula...if I can get some that is]...very glad I found this group. Guest guest
The good news is that i read a study about 5 years ago that said people who have a " pear " shape are much less susceptible to heart problems than those who have an " apple " shape. This makes sense in many ways. Another bit of good news is that when weight has been lost slowly, it tends to stay off. What you are describing here is the classic Ayurvedic body type called " Kapha " . These are the people, on average about 30% of the human race, who are supposed to be heavy. If our society were sane, many would be dancers because there is a tendency to move gracefully. (In fact dancing is the one form of excercise that is good for all three body types.) The ideal exercise regimens for Kapha people involve weight lifting and pushing. The worst program would include running. Kapha people have a tendency towards having digestive problems when the diet is out of balance. I have noticed that Ayurvedic remedies for Kapha problems tend towards certain spices. Ginger, nutmeg, and cardamon are the best, generally taken in small quantities in tea. Cooking with these spices is a great idea in general. If you look up material on Kapha you will certainly find more information than i have. At 01:37 PM 11/23/01 -0000, you wrote: >Namaste, > >Thanks for your reply.
