Excema called Pompholyx

Hi Doc

I have a type of excema called Pompholyx. It is small very deep

blister on the side of my fingers and toes. Also inside my palms. It

is very itchy, and the blisters on the feet also hurts. It is painful

to walk when many of them come to the surface and breaks at the same

time. The doctor says I have to live with it, and he gives me the

strongest cortizone salves on the market. I dont use them, although

it is sometimes hard not to do so. I have had this for more than ten

years, I have tried homeopatic remedies but they did not help. Nor

did acupuncture. I hope I was able to express myself properly,

english is not my first language.

Do you have any suggestions for what to do?

These rare types of eczema often have an environmental origin. That's why

doctors can't do much about them, and why homeopathic remedies can't work.

There are kinesiology techniques that can help with diagnosis, and have a

chance of pinpointing what the environmental problem might be.

In Scandinavia generally, it has been found through some fairly obscure

research that many people are unusually sensivitve to electromagnetic

fields. This gets more intense as you go further north, and is at its worst

north of the Arctic Circle. So that's one thing to check out in your house.

I know that often, the electrical systems include powerful transformers

located in houses, which is simply not done in America. These are sometimes

located in outside corners. See if that's part of your situation.

I would strongly recommend that you find a Bau-Biologie practitioner. There

are several good ones in Norway, but i don't know who they are. Having a

complete survey of your home done, with special emphasis on the electrical

system, would be a good idea. One thing too -- does the problem get worse

if you have been working especially long on your computer? If so, you have

another clue, and can possibly get some shielding for your monitor. Also

make sure there are no electrical black boxes anywhere near your body --

these are transformers, and they typically put out very heavy fields for

about 30 centimeters in any direction. That's good, because it is easy to

move them out of range. Many computer installations include these black

boxes, as they are power sources for speakers and some modems.

Hi, Heidi and Doc!!

My 13 yr old daughter also has pompholyx.. has had it since she was a year

and a half old... comes and goes 3-4 times a year. FINALLY I diagnosed it a

couple of years ago (Dr's just had her take cortisone cream before too and

it didn't speed the healing at all)...

The Dr I took her to agreed that it WAS pompholyx and we went to a

dermatologist.. who promptly prescribed prednisone (10 mg each pill) 2x a

day the first day, 1 pill for next 5 days and then 1 pill every other day

for the next 10 days... no creams.

I am not happy with this routine at all... of course, it takes care of the

symptoms but we would like to find the CAUSE and treat it..

It can't be due to " household " problems since we have moved several times

since she was little and regardless of where we were, she got it.

She also has bladder problems.. she took 4 years to get potty trained and

still had numerous " accidents " even though she is very smart ...she had her

urethra tube enlarged when she was 8 yrs old and she still has problems of

" urgency " - getting better now that she is older and I homeschool her since

the teasing at school was merciless and the teacher would not allow her

access to the bathroom every hour to help relieve the problem.. so maybe

" kidney " problems you mentioned, Doc, may be a contributing cause.

We have started going to a chiropractor who adjusted her atlas (base of the

spine) and she is on multivitamins and minerals plus Omega3 fatty acids..

she just got her 1st period a couple of weeks ago so we have hormones to

deal with now as well...

Any additional suggestions would be MOST welcome!!!

Thank you!!!!!

Dear Heidi,

First of all, I'm glad you didn't just take (believe) your doctor's statement, that you'll have this forever. There is something you can do about it (There is always something you can do about a condition without exception). Excemas (all kinds) are usually related to diet problems and stress as the basic 'Cause'. You may have noticed that your attacks usually followed moments of stress in your life. Of course your physical constitution had to be receptive for the outbreak to occur.

I'd recommend a thorough Total Body Cleanse with emphasis on the Liver and the Kidneys. Hot and Cold Showers on your feet with a shower wand should also help dramatically. Topically, I'd recommend you start off with Doc Christopher's Jojoaba 9% Tea Tree Oil combination for 3 days, followed by my Deep Tissue Repair Oil for a week and then 2 weeks of applying my Herbal First Aid Salve. You should do this concurrently with doing the cleanses.

There is no reason why you should not be able to handle this completely and find a total healing as long as you handle the stress in your life as well.

Of course, I don't have all the data in regards your overall health, diet, and lifestyle so the above could be fine-tuned depending on those factors.

Hope this helps.

Love,

Doc

Hi Heidi,

I had this same problem. I went to a dermatologist and got the same

answer; a prednisone cream that didn't work. I suffered terribly

with it.

Then I got and read the book, " Eat Right 4 Your Type " by Dr. Peter

D'Adamo, N.D. I decided to follow his recommendations, and stopped

eating certain foods, based on my blood type. My excema totally

cleared up, and it never returns unless I eat those foods. But if I

do eat them, it shows back up right away. Apparently, I have a

sensitivity to these foods. Several other health conditions I was

having also cleared up, including post-nasal drip, coughing,

indigestion, toenail fungus, brittle fingernails, acid refulx, and my

Fibromyalgia pain really reduced. There's a web site that tells the

food lists, according to your blood type (O, A, B, or AB). I know a

lot of people where I work that have also gone on the blood type food

lists, and swear by them to clear up a host of problems, including

arthritis. I don't know if it's okay to give the web sites here on

this list, but if you'd like to write me privately, I'll be happy to

give them to you.

Dear Terri,

I hope you read my recommendations to Heidi. I would have you do the same things. You're absolutely right in that this condition can be terminatedly handled if you find the 'cause'. One of the things you mentioned below was the bladder problems. As per my advice to Heidi, this is one of the places I'd look first in doing the cleanses.

Many times when the kidneys (and bowels) are not functioning at par, you'll find the body using the skin as a back-up elimination organ which it is quite capable of doing. Up to 10 pounds a day of gases, liquids, and solids can be eliminated through the skin which of course can bring on all kinds of problems for the skin.

Hope this helps.

Love,

Doc
