Guest guest
Hi Mar, I'm so glad that you found the post helpful! If I may offer some things based on your response... As far as antifungals go, the general rule is to keep increasing as you are doing, and you know to slow back a bit when you feel the 'die- off' reaction, which is probably what happened when you got sick using the olive leaf extract. Slow down some, then in some days continue to increase again. It's a good idea to select 4 antifungals and rotate them every 4 days to keep the candida from morphing into a resistance of any one antifungal. You could do something like this: 4 days olive leaf extract, 4 days garlic extract or total tonic (if vinegar is tolerated in your case), 4 days of oregano oil (make sure it's food grade, you can put it in capsules as you take it), 4 days of black walnut extract, back to 4 days of olive leaf etc etc. The great thing is that you can easily make most of these things at home - stronger and cheaper than store bought. I make my own total tonic, olive leaf extract and garlic extract. The total tonic recipe and directions for tinctures are in the files. You will find a lot of information about probiotics helping candida. According to a site where I get a lot of info (link later), they say not to start with standard probiotics like acidophilus and cultured foods (yoghurt, sauerkraut) until you've been on antifungals for 6 weeks. The reason behind this is because the candida will feed on the cultures. Perhaps Ian can add to this. Personally I don't know because I use the alternative probiotic called Primal Defense, that is supposedly exempt from this rule (I might add that it's quite expensive, especially to have it shipped to europe). Algae is a great idea, no doubt about it. For additional vitamin support I eat nutritional yeast daily, about 2 tablespoons. I also eat ground flax and barley green compresses. About cleaning the liver, for me taking milk thistle and other herbs was not enough. I do use the liver cleanse recipe by hulda clark as I prefer the fast and dirty method . You can do this after a month or so on anti-fungals - that should kill any parasites you have besides the candida. I felt a great improvement in my symptoms since the last one, so I will do one once a month for a few months. A couple more techniques I have been using are hydrotherapy and castor oil packs. At the end of my shower each day I stand in hot as I can stand it water for 3 minutes and cold as I can stand it for 1 minute. It's better to do this 3 times, but I usually don't wake up early enough for that . With the castor oil pack I cover my whole abdomen, especially my liver, and put heat on for 90 minutes. If you need directions for the castor oil pack you can go to this message, as I didn't find it in the files herbal remedies/message/15173. I don't know if you have considered doing the total body cleanse program (in the files under doc shillington's recipes) but this would be an absolutely excellent thing to do. It's right on the money, cleaning the bowels, total tonic, boosting the immune system with echinacea etc. One thing I have learned is that there are so many things you can do, so many options and a million different things that will work. What a blessing that you found stevia! I have looked everywhere (i'm in italy) and noone seems to know what it is! Lastly, here is a link to a bulletin board that has so much info on candida overgrowth, especially as related to LGS (leaky gut syndrome). http://bcn.net/~stoll/archives/lgs.html. I spent several days researching on that site alone. Like I said, I'm not good at being brief about this . Let me know if I can help at all. Good health to you! love thessa herbal remedies, walkyria9 wrote: > Thank you!!! > > You dont know how much you've helped me with this mail! > > Ok...just to let you know what Im doing, and if its enough... > > I take 2 whole (organic of course) garlic cloves each day now. Guest guest
If you're having trouble getting Pau d'Arco in Norway, i'm sure plenty of good Americans would be happy to send you some. It is effective for a wide range of conditions, and i like the taste too. Sometimes it's sold under the name Taheebo, so you can check that out. Is it legal for someone to send you any? I recently started using Milk Thistle for liver trouble -- had not tried it before, and was pleasantly surprised. Its effects are subtle but definitely there. Guest guest
Hello thessa and michael Thank you for your response :-) I dont know if its legal to send to me. I know its possible to buy for your own personal use by mail. And I know too that if I travel to Denmark and buy it there (they do have it there), then I can take home as much as I use for three month. Weird, huh? But I am not planning to travel yet, so... Of course the herb should be organic. Well, we will see if I get that herb :-) There are no coincidences.... Thanks again!!
