Guest guest
Anthrax FAQs This Information Is From The Centers For Disease Control with editing and addenda by me. My comments, suggestions, and additions are in red and italicized. Love, Doc Ian "Doc" Shillington N.D.505-772-5889Dr.IanShillington What is anthrax? Anthrax is an acute infectious disease caused by the spore-forming bacterium Bacillus anthracis. Anthrax most commonly occurs in wild and domestic lower vertebrates (cattle, sheep, goats, camels, antelopes, and other herbivores), but it can also occur in humans when they are exposed to infected animals or tissue from infected animals. Why has anthrax become a current issue? Because anthrax is considered to be a potential agent for use in biological warfare, the Department of Defense has begun mandatory vaccination of all active duty military personnel who might be involved in conflict. How common is anthrax and who can get it? Anthrax is most common in agricultural regions where it occurs in animals. These include South and Central America, Southern and Eastern Europe, Asia, Africa, the Caribbean, and the Middle East. When anthrax affects humans, it is usually due to an occupational exposure to infected animals or their products. Workers who are exposed to dead animals and animal products from other countries where anthrax is more common may become infected with B. anthracis (anthrax). Anthrax in wild livestock has occurred in the United States. How is anthrax transmitted? Anthrax infection can occur in three forms: cutaneous (skin {cuts, abrasions etc.}), inhalation {breathing air in an infected area = highly contaminated dusty area}, and gastrointestinal {contaminated food, meat, and drink sources}. B. anthracis spores can live in the soil for many years, and humans can become infected with anthrax by handling products from infected animals or by inhaling anthrax spores from contaminated animal products. Anthrax can also be spread by eating undercooked meat from infected animals. It is rare to find infected animals in the United States. What are the symptoms of anthrax? Symptoms of disease vary depending on how the disease was contracted, but symptoms usually occur within seven days. Cutaneous: Most (about 95 percent) anthrax infections occur when the bacterium enters a cut or abrasion on the skin, such as when handling contaminated wool, hides, leather or hair products (especially goat hair) of infected animals. Skin infection begins as a raised itchy bump that resembles an insect bite but within 1-2 days develops into a vesicle and then a painless ulcer, usually 1-3 centimeters in diameter, with a characteristic black necrotic (dying) area in the center. Lymph glands in the adjacent area may swell. About 20 percent of untreated cases of cutaneous anthrax will result in death. Deaths are rare with appropriate antimicrobial therapy. See my notes below on an all natural herbal approach! Inhalation: Initial symptoms may resemble a common cold. After several days, the symptoms may progress to severe breathing problems and shock. Inhalation anthrax is usually fatal. This form is potentially the most dangerous threat from terrorists IF they had access to distribute it by airplane which at this time is highly unlikely due to increased security at our airports and the FBI & FAA investigations into crop dusting and other air industries. Intestinal: The intestinal disease form of anthrax may follow the consumption of contaminated meat and is characterized by an acute inflammation of the intestinal tract. Initial signs of nausea, loss of appetite, vomiting, fever are followed by abdominal pain, vomiting of blood, and severe diarrhea. Intestinal anthrax results in death in 25 to 60 percent of cases. From a defense viewpoint, this is our weak spot. What about contamination of our water sources (not only Anthrax, but other agents as well)? Also, we import a tremendous amount of food (and drink) from other countries. The solution = Go 100% totally organic from local sources. Buy and use your own water distillery. {I don't know if RO would stop Anthrax. It might, but does anyone have any data on this?} To be totally safe, I'd go with a distillery. Sears had a good on sale a short while ago, (all stainless steel inards) for $129. Where is anthrax usually found? Anthrax can be found globally. It is more common in developing countries or countries without veterinary public health programs. Certain regions of the world (South and Central America, Southern and Eastern Europe, Asia, Africa, the Caribbean, and the Middle East) report more anthrax in animals than others. Can anthrax be spread from person to person? Direct person-to-person spread of anthrax is extremely unlikely to occur. {You notice they don't use the word "immpossible". "Extremely unlikely" is not good enough for me}. Communicability is not a concern in managing or visiting with patients with inhalational anthrax. {Pardon my scepticism, but we'll see won't we, and what about the other forms of anthrax???}. I'm not trying to scare anybody here. But like the Boy Scouts, I believe in being prepared, and I'd like to have all the data before, I'd risk either myself or my family. Is there a way to prevent infection? In countries where anthrax is common and vaccination levels of animal herds are low, humans should avoid contact with livestock and animal products and avoid eating meat that has not been properly slaughtered and cooked. Also, an anthrax vaccine has been licensed for use in humans. The vaccine is reported to be 93 percent effective in protecting against anthrax. {I'm sorry, but even 93% (if true) is not good enough as far as I'm concerned. Less than 98% (actually confirmed) is unacceptable. Only 98 to 99% effectiveness would be acceptable in my books.} What is the anthrax vaccine? The anthrax vaccine is manufactured and distributed by BioPort, Corporation, Lansing, Mich. The vaccine is a cell-free filtrate vaccine, which means it contains no dead or live bacteria in the preparation. The final product contains no more than 2.4 milligrams of aluminum hydroxide (taken internally is very highly toxic!!!!!!!!!!!!!) as adjuvant. Anthrax vaccines intended for animals should not be used in humans. Are there adverse reactions to the anthrax vaccine? Mild local reactions occur in 30 percent of recipients and consist of slight tenderness and redness at the injection site. Severe local reactions are infrequent and consist of extensive swelling of the forearm in addition to the local reaction. 30%, SHEESH!!! Give me a break. This is totally unacceptable! How is anthrax diagnosed? Anthrax is diagnosed by isolating B. anthracis from the blood, skin lesions, or respiratory secretions or by measuring specific antibodies in the blood of persons with suspected cases. Is there a treatment for Anthrax? I'll be perfectly honest with you here in stating that I've never handled a case of anthrax. I've never seen one or even heard of anyone in my area who's seen or heard of one. I don't even know anyone who knows anyone who's seen or heard of a case of Anthrax and I consider myself to be very informed. But I'll tell you this, I'd be very willing to stake my life and that of my family's on my anti-plague combination derived from my own research and as a result of my experiences in handling flus, colds, and severe bacterial and viral infections. It's very simply this: Echinacea Tincture, Total Tonic, and DMSO. For Prevention of Anthrax: One Dropperful of DMSO (DMSO should be USP Pharmaceutical Grade ONLY!) early in the morning, every morning on an empty stomach. Two dropperfuls of Organic Echinacea Tincture (absolute highest quality only) three times a day and you should not take this for more than 3 weeks at a time. Best usage of Echinacea, is one week on, and one week off. Two or more dropperfuls of Total Tonic three times a day (See formula in the Herbal Remedies files) herbal remediesDoc%20Ian%20Shillington%20ND/Total%20Tonic%20Formula For someone who has already contracted Anthrax: One ounce of DMSO immediately, and from then on, one dropperful first thing in the morning on an empty stomach. One ounce of Echinacea Tincture immediately, and then two dropperfuls every waking hour on the hour for a week. One ounce of Total Tonic immediately, and then two dropperfuls every waking hour on the hour for as long as it takes to handle the disease. You can use even more of the Total Tonic if you wish. The person must be put on an organic juice fast immediately and taken off of all solid foods. Freshly made Organic Juices Only!!!!!!!!! At least one hot bath a day (preferrably two), as hot as the person can stand it, for a minimum of a half an hour with six cups of hot fresh Ginger tea (best would be Yarrow tea if you can get it, but Ginger would do the trick). A hot sauna for an half an hour with the herb tea as above would be even better. This is the handling for any plague, flu, cold, or any major bacterial or viral attack. It's what I'll be using if I have to. Much love, Doc
Guest guest
Dear Catherine, See answers highlighted below. Love, Doc Ian "Doc" Shillington N.D.505-772-5889Dr.IanShillington - C Creel herbal remedies Tuesday, October 09, 2001 3:35 PM Re: [herbal remedies] Anthrax FAQ's & All Natural Solutions For Handling It. RO would, but is unnecessary if you are on a municipal water supply. Filtering and chlorination meyhods take care of that. Further, water is not considered to be a viable way to spread anthrax spores. If you reread my post you'll see that I was not singling out municipal water supplies necessarily, though that certainly would be the main concern in any mass biological attack. I also was not limiting the water supply sabotage to anthrax only. I think I mentioned that there are other "agents" that could be introduced. And 'errrrr, what studies are you referring to which validate that water is not considered to be a viable way to spread anthrax spores (a little of your own medicine here). Could you point me to the studies that show that Echinacea, the ingredients in Total Tonic, and DMSO can destroy this kind of bacteria that is unlike any other? Thanks. Regards, Catherine Are you having a bad hair day, or are you just naturally being covertly belligerent and critical. I prefaced my "solution" by saying I've never come in contact with anyone who's had experience with Anthrax. There are NO "studiesas far as I know of" using natural methods on Anthrax because the current individuals doing those kinds of studies are "allopathic" only. I wish that the powers that be would do 'natural' "studies" in this area. I base my solutions, evaluations and decisions on my own personal research, and on helping hundreds of others get over very serious bacterial and viral infections using the above herbal solutions.
