Guest guest
I know we are an herbal list, but just the same, I hope someone can give me some ideas as to what I can do. We would like to garden organically. However, we have a neighbor right next to us that uses pesticides and herbacides. There is no other place that we can move our garden to because we have so many trees that we would not get enough sunlight any where else in our yard. We rent and our landlords don't leave us many options, either. So--how close to our neighbor's yard is safe for our garden? Some parts of our garden is right next to where she sprays, and other parts are 5-10 feet from where she sprays. Any ideas on what we can do next year? Or would it be safer to just nix the garden idea and step up efforts to find a place in the country to rent where there will be a larger cushion of space between us and those who spray? We have already talked to her and she is really a hard nose--she says she absolutely must spray because she can't control the weeds any other way. :-( Becky
Guest guest
Is moving an option, or can you put up a tall wooden fence? Guest guest
Hi, It does not sound like a really big space. You got any kids who would pick her weeds for her? Guest guest
Maybe next time she sprays you should call the cops and file an assault with a deadly weapon complaint. If more people did that it would really change a few things. My parents rent out our field to a farmer who sprays. It is impossible to kill the weeds around here or garden as a consequence. So I do all my gardening in a greenhouse in compost with no soil to avoid the contamination. Malcolm
