Guest guest
Dear Sindea and Jocelyne, When I checked with the IDMA (Aromatherapy List) about bitter orange for strep throat, I got a response from a friend of mine (Butch) and it reminded me that we had discussed this in the past. His suggestion was ORGANIC Oregano EO. The way he suggests using it is a 20% mix into extra virgin olive oil then use 3 - 4 drops of that in a spoon full of milk or sugar. When you swallow this be sure and not get it on your lips as it will sting if you do. Now you will never get me to recommend to anyone else to take EO's internally but I will say that I have taken Oregano myself internally for cold/flu and it has worked exceptionally well. Butch has many studies regarding Oregano vs Strep and I am sure if you contact him he will give you references. Butch is an American who is living in Turkey and he sells many EO's that are grown there including some excellent Organic Oregano. I also buy olive oil that is to die for from him and I eat it with a little bread! YUM, YUM. If you want further info on the studies on Oregano and/or other info from him you can contact him at butchbsi. His website is Http://www.AV-AT.com. Hope this helps, Mindy Kittay

Guest guest
when i was about 10 yrs old and had been in the hospital for a bruised eye due to a pop fly which turned into a bad infection due to the ball spinning in my eye, i contracted strep. at that time anti biotics were virtually unknown. when i got home the strep progressed to a nasty sore throat with white pustules on the tonsils and even on the tongue and the pain gradually got worse to where swallowing was almost impossible. the only thing we had on hand was some very strong... or so it seemed.. iodine. momma swabbed my throat and tonsils with that and we both cried as she treatd me as she knew it was very painful. it was hard for her to do it. but the strep cleared up in very good order. iodine is really a strong astringent and while not from a land herb, is from seaweed so suppose it could be called herbal treatment. i would hope there are less painful ways to cure it by now, though. here is a web site with information as to symptoms. http://kidshealth.org/parent/infections/lung/strep_throat.html love.. granny lee herbal remedies , John Ybarra <deuteronomy2929> wrote: > I was wondering if a gargle of Total Tonic would work?
