Guest guest
I'm sorry, but I can't help you here. What exactly IS this West Nile Virus? I've never heard of it before. Will keep this family and my prayers tho. AuntyB - boleybrandy herbal remedies Thursday, September 20, 2001 7:35 AM [herbal remedies] West Nile Virus I just received an email from my friend about her nephew. He was diagnosed with encipalitus (west nile virus) and is prognosis is not good. He is only 6 years old. He is currently in intensive care and is expected to go into a coma. Anyone have any experience with this kind of virus? I will gladly forward any info that you may have to the boys mother. The mother already eats very organically, and is open to alternative treatments. Thank you, Brandy
Guest guest
Hardly anyone has experience with west nile virus. In general i have noticed that Golden Seal has anti-viral actions, which is interesting and should be noted. Also there's an herb called Lemon Balm which in tea form has been proven to my satisfaction to act against herpes viruses. In a case like this, those two herbs would be worth trying since they would be unlikely to cause any damage anyway. But their effectiveness for this particular virus would be speculation at this point. That goes for medical personnel too -- there just haven't been enough cases yet in the USA to make any promises regarding effective treatments. I really hate having to deliver bad news like this. Hopefully someone will have some better news -- particularly some treatments that may have worked in Africa.
