Guest guest
I don't know if any of you guys can solve this for me, but any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. My mother who is one of the most generous and giving people you could ever meet has in recent years developed some mental problems that consist of the following symptoms. Has an obsession with the neighbour chipping her drive way (not Happening) was convinced she used to see him in the yard at Night (not happening) after selling and relocating into a rental temporarily the same issue reoccurred, she claimed he was following her and continuing his onslaught of harassment every night. upon moving into her new house on a lovely three acre's of paradise, it has started again. the person in question lives one hour drive away from her and would have no knowledge of these happenings. the chipping drive, concrete and guttering cant really be seen with the eye so he would have to be very weak to do such little damage, but any little imperfection that she finds ,she blames it on this ex neighbour. she has already spent over seven thousand dollars on different types of security and camera,s and its just getting worse. It has been to court in the past and she is speaking of taking it there again, she refuses to hear what has been said to her by the magistrate. I fear that if this goes on much longer, ultimately they will lock her in a rubber room and throw away the key. In her mind this is really happening ,can we calm her mind herbaly any help would help this very ,at ends family SPARERIBAZ [spareribaz]Wednesday, 19 September 2001 11:13herbal remedies Subject: IAN Re: [herbal remedies] Re: Medical Kit Necessities Hey Doc what is the difference between the two... Guest guest
Most diagnosis of mental problems needs to be made by a qualified practitioner, though psychiatrists don't get much slack around here )! I would think that it sounds like a paranoid schizaphrenia, and needs to get the brain chemicals back in balance, BUT she needs an OFFICIAL qualified diagnosis, and then you can look into what you can do. Guest guest
Tom, Has youf mom seen any doctors, or had any diagnosis as to why or what is going on in her brain?? Is she on any medications? My grandmother, many years ago mixed up her meds and started seeing things that were not there (really bad)...we had to go along with her, chasing cats out of the bedroom, killing bugs, etc... then we found out what she did... but she believed it was really happening.... Hopefullly someone on this list can help more. Guest guest
No! No! No! The problem with this recommendation is that the only "OFFICIAL" qualified practioners who would give a "QUALIFIED" diagnosis are the Psychs. You may as well put a gun (drugs) to her head or plug her into a wall socket, because that's what the psych will do or worse. I'm surprised by your answer here Steve. This answer is completely allopathic. Tom, you should send her to an experienced Naturopathic Doctor who is also a Nutritionist and have him or her do a complete investigation into her overall health. Guest guest
First, are there any psychiatric medications involved in this scene? Those tend to breed obsessions. But that said there are many other things which breed obsessions. One of the most common things is Vitamin B deficiencies. This is difficult to diagnose. Actually about the only reliable way i've found to diagnose this particular deficiency when these mental symptoms are happening, is to take a supplement (usually a good commercial B-50 tablet or capsule) and see if the symptoms stop. If so, that was the problem, and it's solved. If not, there may be other causes. Another common cause of obsessions is chronic unrelieved pain. I have known cases where the pain was not even acknowledged, but when found and handled, usually by chiropractic adjustment and more rarely by electrical therapy, the obsessions disappeared.
