Guest guest
Sorry to be delayed on emails- we are in the midst of cpu problems again... Steve- Just so ya know, I am not just a 'doula-for-the-day', so I am not sure what you meant by that comment- I meet about 3 times before the birth and then am there for the entire birth and initial postpartum period, and then follow- up at home about 2 times... What I had said it was in regards to helping with pre-term labor and slowing or stopping contractions. And that was the reason for suggesting to the woman to use cal/mag as a muscle relaxant to help with this. Sindea This is true, but we don't know that that is what the 'Doula-for-the-day" was even referring to, and like any diagnosis, or medical guidance, one should ask questions, not just "do as the master directs" without knowing or caring why. Also, besides me suggesting her to find what the nurse was basing this on before acting either way, she should know if she has any peculiar symptoms w/o tests run for any of those problems, as well as the Doula would know if she has any medical problems w/o medical tests run!In Health,Steve
Guest guest
This was so long ago, I almost forgot, but I'll try to explain. I read the question as the person who was making the " suggestion " was a nurse-playing-a-doula, and she was the one saying don't take the calcium; no way, no how! She was the one referred to as the doula-for-a-day not knowing what she was talking about, as you said she was down on all alternatives (pretty much)! Either I misread, or you did, so hope that explains. Steve ----------------------------- Sorry to be delayed on emails- we are in the midst of cpu problems again... Guest guest
Gee Steve, you are not winning any points by refering to Sindea as a " nurse playing doula and who came up with the title " doula-for-a-day " There are two distinct professions: a nurse and a doula with two very different roles. It seemed to me she was just asking about the perhaps " mis " information she received from a nurse about the " dangers' of taking cal-mag. You sound a bit condescending in your reply. Heh? Heather Moll Doula for 30 years. By the way, I love using cal-mag as a tech for slowing pre-mature labor. - " Steve " <bigbird3969 <herbal remedies > Monday, September 10, 2001 3:05 AM Re:Re: Re:Re: [herbal remedies] calcium question > This was so long ago, I almost forgot, but I'll try to explain.
