This is great information! Thanks for posting it.

The only things i would recommend adding are these points:

When people are diabetic, fasting is much more tricky. Diabetics should

make sure there is someone around at all times when fasting, just in case

there's a crash. [More research on this particular point is needed. Anyone

who is aware of specific studies concerning diabetes and fasting, please let

us all know more.]

Some people don't do so well with fruit first thing in the morning. It

makes some of us lightheaded. If that's the case, then it is better to make

fruit a dinner or late night snack. In fact much of my weight loss came

from simply avoiding high-fat meals late at night and substituting fruit at

those times specifically.

And the main thing, is to remember that in the Bible we are specifically

told to be happy when fasting. This can be difficult, but i do believe this

particular command creates great health benefits when followed.

Yes, good points Michael. I will say that I have no experience with

blood sugar conditions and fasting - diabetes or hypoglycemia.

Certainly Ian's success using the Total Body Cleanse might be a more

traveled/successful route in that arena. I used to work at a health

food store where we used a program similar to the Total Body Cleanse

and I remember at least one diabetic responding well.

Also a good thing to note is that people get lightheaded, headaches,

irritability, sometimes nausea, diahrea etc when cleansing, especially

at the beginning. Not only can fruit cause lightheadedness, but also

a lot of people experience cleansing effects just by drinking a glass

of veggie juice! It's good to go slow if you are noticing these types

of symptoms with a light cleansing meal, juice or fruit. For weight

loss my partner often recommends exactly what you said, replace either

lunch or dinner with as much fruit as you like 3 or 4 times a week.

It seems to be easy for people to follow and they are losing weight on

a healthy schedule.

As for the bible telling us to be happy while fasting, I must say, it

can be one of the grouchiest times to be around me if I am really in

need of a cleanse! Only after a few cleanses was I feeling serene,

calm, and meditative.
