I hope that I can remember the jest, and respond accordingly.

First the stress: I know that stress wreaks havoc on your adrenils if you are

not in an exercise mode when pumping cortisol, etc., but only some major changes

will alleviate the stress. I tried getting into a workout routine and walking

and was actually doing pretty well, which helped me physically, and mentally

(except trying to communicate on the e-mails, getting ready for work or cleaning

house, etc - multi tasking became somewhat stressful), 'til i hurt my back. I

have negativity all around me in various parts of my life (including finances,

attitudes, spinning wheels in trying to complete my schooling, etc.), and I'm

not 18 yrs. old, to just jump up and quit my job and go to school full time, or

up and leave and move where my future 'options " may look brighter. One step at a

time is alot easier to relate to when you don't have responsibility/debt, and

not almost 45 years old. Enough of the pity party, but that's part of the

problem.

Good food is not only expensive (ie. fresh, organic), but hard to find the

patience and time to juice as it takes longer to prepare and clean-up, than to

drink; would seem alot more worthwhile if like teas, you could save what you

make for several days, but I know you can't! I just went more in debt and bought

a Vita-mix, but I'm not used to making juices with that as it retains all of the

pulp instead of rejecting it, so you make a sauce instead of a juice if you

don't dilute it with water or juice concentrate (which is expensive again if

organic, and can't find everywhere).

One of my weaknesses in school (besides upper class women) was poor utilization

of my time; I have problems fitting much more than 3 meals, 8 hrs. work, a

shower, and 7 hrs. sleep in a 24 hr. day, much less massive meal variety,

exercise, meditation, handling a few phone calls, extended multi-temperature

showers, etc..

I do eat a pretty good variety of organic foods including limited dairy

(occasional milk, but usually just yogurt and cream cheese), fruit as i can find

it, but at least apples and oranges (occasional seasonal fruit and veggies),

some frozen veggies, whole grain hot or cold cereals, sprouted or multi-grain

bagles or bread, freshly ground flax seed, spring or filtered water, 1 1/2 cups

of coffee every 2-3 days (organic), various herb teas 1 - 2 cups per day the

rest of the time, vegetarian meals 90% of the time at home, and try to eat

vegetarian at least lunch or supper when I go out if, and pretty much

carnivorous 95% of the time when i eat at my parents (once per week). I usually

dring tea sweetened with Stevia when I eat out.

As far as the Feng Shui, it's one of those alternatives that I still haven't

moved into my comfort zone (don't know enough about it), though I know with my

limited space, and everything that I've accumulated in the past 7 yrs. that I've

lived here, including all of my " references " for these such occasionns, It's

hard to keep clean and organized, especially with a cat (to who my allergies are

all but diminished), and a gravel parking lot, and minimal external lighting,

all this is a factor of environmental proportions!

Maybe it's just the negativity, and status quo of my everyday life!?!

Anyway, I'm open to amy more prodding that ya'll can give, and the rest, will

just have to fall into place some how. I'm the kind that will see things start

to snowball, and jump on and hild on for life, but after beating my head on the

wall for a extended while (perhaps because of the lack of support) I throw a

pity party! Someone said the other day that considering my occasional venting

around work, that I was in a catch 22: don't let it worry you, and you get

complacent, let it get to you, and your health can go south QUICK!

Thanks,

Steve

Ok Steve, lets concentrate on kicking the negativity.

About 1 1/2 years ago I bought a book on " Breathwalking " . It describes various

breathing techniques to perform while walking at a brisk pace. One that helped

me more than I could have ever imagined was inhale to the count of 4, exhale to

the count of 4. While you are walking, inhaling and exhaling to the count of 4,

starting with your little finger, tap each finger against your thumb saying or

thinking sa ta na ma. Do not tap back from index finger to middle finger etc.

but always start from the pinkie. This is an " erase " technique. It's not

something the brain comprehends so has to focus on it to do it properly. It

literally erased my negativity and made me believe that I could, indeed, reach

my goals even tho I was coming up on 60 and had no job and was living off the

small amount of retirement that I'd accumulated in 5 years with my previous job.

I did this every day, but walked less than 1/2 a mile each time.

Go to your local library and see if you can find it. (Don't buy it yet, you

don't need another expense.) Breathwalk by Gurucharan Singh Khalsa, Ph.D., and

Yogi Bhahan, Ph.D.

Sweet orange oil is one of the least expensive essential oils you can buy, but

it is the most uplifting scent I've ever encountered. Either drop one or two

drops on a tissue to scent your apartment or use a double boiler type

contraption if you don't have a proper diffuser. You might be surprised how

much good it will do.

Do *something* about the clutter. Even if you have to stack it all in a corner

and throw a sheet over it!!! Clutter is depressing.

Hope this helps some.

Hi Steve,

Sounds to me like you are way off center Steve (aren't we all to some

extent and some or all of the time). And I just don't think herbs or

cleansing will do the trick right now. It may help as part of a

plan, but first things first. This frustration you're feeling (and

how often does it come up?) is your way of trying to stop yourself to

reevaluate and get back on track - at least it is for me. Something

it usually takes people months/years, and meditation

techniques/techniques of your choice to get to if they don't already

have a technique when this off-centeredness comes up. Because none

of us can really tell you what approach is best for ridding yourself

of this negativity and negative lifestyle, you have to 'connect' to

yourself in whatever way you know how (or starting learning how) and

you will get answers there. I have felt so like you describe and been

in similar life circumstances. My best route has been to be radical

about it. I was tired of thinking " I just can't up and quit my job

because I hate it " , because I felt that was what society had planted

in my head. NO WAY would my soul buy into that crap. I can't tell

you how many times I have quit my job with a couple of hundred

dollars to my name and debt up to my ears ($70,000 at one point!).

I've moved to 3 different cities in 8 years, the first 2 times on

less than $1000 and the second time with about $2000 - but it was to

Italy! Each move was made because I had come to a similar point that

you are at - hating my job, fed up with the negativity around me

and/or deciding to concentrate on what I truly felt was important

etc. With $450 after the plane ticket, I took 2 months to walk

through europe, not for a relaxing vacation, but for what I knew

would be a rigorous spiritual unfoldment. When I moved to Italy I

had no job and no prospects, but for me the choice was staying in

Atlanta with a well paying job (after 6 years of slaving in the

restaurant business I had finally gotten one in a different field!)

while my life partner lived in italy, or decide that for me the love

and partnership was more important than the comfort of knowing I

could pay my debts. What is my point to all this? Well, finally

I 'connected' to myself and developed a technique for changing my

life and outlook that didn't involve moving to a different city each

time. But my only point to this story is that if the " I can't quit

my job " frame of mind is the only thing that's keeping you there -

I'm here to tell you I've done it a thousand times, in dire

circumstances, with mounds of debt, a true desire and gumption to

contribute to the universe in a different way, and it always works

out - and I never knew how it would when I made the decision. As a

matter of fact, when I'm feeling like you do, I clean up my life

instantly, job, friends, social gatherings that are not a

constructive use of my time, cities(! eheheh) are all evaluated and

gently let go of (or put on hold) if they are not part of who I want

to be or how I want to contribute to the universe. I'm not

suggesting you follow my path, especially because I would have done

it differently now, but I just can't stand to see you limit yourself

with an idea of 'I'm 45 and I can't do X'! That's crazy Steve! You

can get out of this, you just have to ask yourself how!

Hahahaha, at this point I feel a " Stop the Madness!! " coming over me,

so I guess it's time to quit typing!!

I hope the fun I had typing this can offer something to your

situation!
