Intro and Indigent detox

Hi Steve,

I have done several types and lengths of fasting, including colonics

or enemas, juicing etc. I have also read God knows how much

information on the subject, and my partner has done twice the amount

of cleansing/fasting that I have.

You might try juice fasting one day a week. Doing this over 6 months

or a year's time can really clean you up if your diet the rest of the

week is decent and it fits into a busy schedule pretty well. After

some weeks you may even be able to choose a fasting day as a work day,

at least I can, but of course that's individual. In fact, after

becoming an experienced faster, it actually made my day at work

smoother. Even if you have to purchase the juice (if available) it

will be SAVING you money.

Also like Jamie mentioned, I notice a significant detox effect just by

adding 2 small cups (4-6 ozs per) of fresh veggie juice when I am

eating normally. My latest choice is carrot, spinach, garlic.

The other powerful detoxers I have had success with are the vitamin C

flush and liver cleanse. Seems like I have seen you posting on

those... Anyway, I'm not sure what folks here are saying about how

often to do the vitamin C flush, but once a month is pretty

conservative, I have done it more often, and Linda Page recommends it

for several weeks in a row for SOME conditions. Of course then you

get into the debate over possible kidney damage. I have done the

liver flush 8 times in 2 years.

Here are some other things I have done singly or in combination with

other stuff:

Eating large amounts of fruit 1st meal of the day - an obvious one,

but if your diet tolerates fruit, over time this can really clean you out.

Eating 50% raw diet and using sprouted grain bread as my basic bread

source. Of course not only eating that, but using those as the base

of my diet.

Someone also refered to keeping the bowels flowing. If you can do

that for a year or so, you can bet that your body will have had time

to catch up on eliminating the stocked up toxins. I have gotten used

to imagining how everything I put in my mouth will come out the other

end! And what I've found is that I have accumulated a great number of

cleaning 'meals'. For example I can have 4 shredded carrots with

tahini and lemon dressing, maybe add herbs or dress it to my liking,

with grilled eggplant dressed in pesto and not only am I completely

satisfied for dinner, but the next day I know it drags out more than

what went in! I also practice food combining, and swear by it, but

lots of people think it's ridiculous.

I too had my amalgams removed about 3 months ago - all 12 of them!

Until you get them out, stay away from chewing gum. Chewing gum

releases something like 200% more mercury into your mouth than normal.

At least so the dentist that did mine claims.

Personally I wanted to clean out my body more slowly than my partner

for example, and I found that I spent a lot less money than what I was

spending previously. It can certainly be done without spending a dime

on supplements even, although I've used plenty of those as well. Even

though it took 2 years to evolve to a diet that I'm satisfied with as

'healthy', I noticed differences immediately when using these small

techniques.

By the way, I guess I haven't really formally introduced myself on

this list before, so it looks like this is it! My website says lots

more, and it's not commercial, so I hope it's ok to post here. If

not, someone please let me know....

Best to you Steve!

to quit procrastinating as I have never done any kind of fast except

using AM/PM Ultimate Cleanse by Nature's Secret, which mostly get's

you regular, and does some basic cleaning I guess. The only problem

is, that you don't really change your eating habits which doesn't help

but so much.

and the problem is I very seldom have 2-3 days off together, and when

i do, We usually go out of town, as this job also interferes with my

social life. Another problem is owing too much money to be buying 1/2

of what I do buy, much less anything extra. And also, I eat as many

organics as I can, and grow a small amount of herbs, but nothing to

really use for cleansing; and live in an apartment with very limited

growing space and/or conditions. I also can't find a full realm of

organics, and they are " expensive " as a whole around here.

come up with some skin conditions on my feet (was alot worse, but went

away, and now is back in a small couple of patches), in the crease of

my leg around my genitals (where I used tea tree oil, vitamin E, and

calendula, but didn't dilute the tea tree oil enough, and 'irritated

it " ), and recently, I have been having more headaches (more meaning

instead of once or twice a year, more like several times a month),

which I attributed to the stress of the job, debt, etc.. I've also had

dental amalgams since before I was 16, and have had 2 redone in gold

inlays, but don't have the time, money, etc. to get them taken out,

though I have been checking different angles over the past year or so.

until I can get in better financial (etc.) situations, that can

improve my sleep and the other above conditions? I believe that if

everything starts getting back to normal, my attitude, spirituality,

etc. will fall in place, though it may take more work than that, but

it would be the beginning!

Welcome to this nice group, Teresa.

And I just wanted to say that this was a great letter

to start with! Very helpful and informative. And what

a nice site you have created.
