Hi Jamie and Valerie,

Wonderful recipe!

One question; I only know Turmeric as a ground, dried herb so should I use 1

part of the dried herb in this recipe? This is a lot of concentrated herb

so thought I'd better ask first.

Also, if only dried horseradish, ginger and cayenne pepper is available, can

you tell me how to adjust this recipe? I live in the boonies and I mean

really sticks, boonies. No such animals around here in the form of fresh

ginger root and fresh horseradish. I might find fresh cayenne but doubt the

heat would be known, so probably the ground cayenne would have to be used

here too.

Thank you,

Jean Baugh

This is a good PENNY question, since she was the

originator of the Turmeric suggestion. I guess by

adding some to what I already made, and I think I've

used toomuch....don't really know. Turmeric isn't

something you HAVE to add as it isn't part of the

original recipe, I just know that it is very

appreciated by many.

NOT ME!!!!! Just no idea at all. I like the boonies,

but certainly that is a disadvantage when you want to

make this recipe!

Back to you, Jamie. And Penny. Good luck, Jean.

I use the dried organic tumeric in my recipe as it is stated.

Call around to your local food co-op or ethnic stores to locate the fresh

horseradish... it is more common than you think. If I just was stuck and

could not find any I would maybe use some kosher fresh ground in the bottle,

not creamy style, before any powdered root. Ginger is readily available

fresh, find it! Peppers can be the most sprayed foods with pesticides so

look for organic habaneros or something hot. Go with your instincts and get

the hottest fresh pepper the store has but please try to find organic.

Most of the time you will find everything pretty easy, don't not make the

recipe because you can't locate something....Make it with what you have now!

Anything is better than nothing.

God Bless,

Jamie
