Guest guest
A friend of mine's 4 month old infant has been diagnosed as immune deficient. He apparently lacks the ability to produce immunoglobulin. He has been sickly since birth, and about a month ago started projectile vomiting which would not stop. His white blood cell count was 60,000. He was taken to a large hospital where CT and MRI discovered an infection in the brain. He has had part of his left frontal lobe removed and has been on IV antibiotics since; he still has some infection left in the right frontal lobe. About a week ago he broke out with sores all over, which they have determined to be herpes zoster; neither parent has ever had this. The mother takes very good care of herself, both dietarily and by using herbs before and during pregnancy. She is still breastfeeding the baby and is with him constantly at the hospital (she just developed a fever blister so has apparently caught the herpes from her son). The options appear to be monthly shots of immunoglobulin or a bone marrow transplant. Any ideas? This poor little guy has not had an easy time and I just keep thinking there must be something better to try (even if the doctors have a fit). Thanks, Nancy
Guest guest
Dear Nancy, I wish I could think of something to help.I know operations are really disturbing, and a brain operation is pretty serious on a tiny baby, but sometimes modern medicine has its miracles too. Sounds like they are floundering though. Spiritual healing? Reiki? Medical intuitive diagnosis? good luck, the baby is in my thoughts love Peela ===== May the long time sun shine upon you, all love suround you, and the pure light within you guide your way on. Guest guest
Many thanks for your response - it is not an easy thing, at any rate. Don't have tons of faith in modern medicine anymore - probably because I am missing too many organs (thanks to the afore mentioned), lol! Maybe if he can just get well enough to come home some improvements can be made - at least fewer " bugs " to catch. Thanks for the warm thoughts!
