Guest guest
Basically what I've heard is that it is far more efficient via the blood stream vs. the stomach/intestine route. It is not covered by most insurances (depending where you are at) but is far cheaper than by-pass (avg. course $3,000-$5,000), and must re-do maintenance as necessary; like any other " passage " , you clean it once doesn';t mean it stays clean w/o proper upkeep/maintenance. Cilantro is supposed to be a good " oral " chelator, but you have to eat it very regularly. Steve ----------------------------- Hi Marti, Chelation Therapy worked greated for my mother. I did a lot of research before my mother did it years ago, following her heart attack. Her health improved tremendously, but I must add she also started eating right and walking everyday as well. We hadn't seen my mother in such good shape in our memories. Her health deteriorated, however, after a rack fell on her at work and she couldn't walk anymore......slowly but surely she started eating bad foods as well and she is no longer the perfect speciman of health that she once was. And of course she did stop going for chelation very long ago too. " They " like the idea of your going for maintenance. It does tend to be pretty expensive, and insurance didn't used to-- but I don't know now--pay for it. In my mother's case they recommended going three times a week for awhile, then later cut it down to once a week, and then to monthly. I have heard bad things about oral chelation, however. I don't seem to recall the sources for this, though my second link does have one about that. In this case, of course, this is a clinic that is issuing this article, and they would naturally want to persuade a person to come to their clinic, but...... And then there is also the " food " chelation therapy called The Poorman's Chelation Therapy, though I don't know how this works for diabetes. Message herbal remedies/message/12531 from Penny tells about this in great detail. On the plus side I think this recipe is very delicious, though not everyone agrees. http://cat007.com/chelatn.htm Great information on Chelation Therapy. This excerpt says: " Chelation is also used with success in such conditions as diabetes...... " http://drcranton.com/ (click on " Oral Chelation - Deceptive and Unsafe! " ) Best wishes to you. Hope your health improves soon! Valerie

Guest guest
Yes, absolutely, I agree. & nbsp; It is far cheaper than by-pass, and certainly in my mother's case we can say first-hand that it worked great. & nbsp; It's just that sometimes people don't actually have the $ to do this, and we were fortunate that my mother did. & nbsp; If Marti has the $, it would be a great consideration for her.
Valerie
& nbsp; Steve & lt;bigbird3969 & gt; wrote:
Basically what I've heard is that it is far more efficient via the blood stream vs. the stomach/intestine route. Guest guest
Oh, Valerie, how I wish I did have the $$$. I'm well covered by insurance for other things but not this and being on SS and retirement doesn't leave a lot of extra. It's great news that it helped your mother. I won't rule it out. I do believe in miracles. Marti
