Guest guest
From what I just read, people with insulin dependant diabetes excrete excessive amounts of magnesium and this can lead to retinopathy, neuropathy, etc., and of course, can be reversed by magnesium supplementation (probably IV), and though important, Gymnema may help to get the diabetes under control, and perhaps even reduce or eliminate your insulin requirements, but nothing says that it will reverse late stage symptoms. More reading and research needs to be done by all affected individuals though Gymnema probably wouldn't hurt. In Health, Steve ----------------------------- Marti, I ordered a 2 year subscription with Dr. David Williams and part of the s ubscription will be information on where to buy this diabetes product. I w ill be happy to let you know as soon as I receive it but please jog me if I forget. I need memory pills! I bet this information might be on the internet. Will check it out. Als o, you can buy this by the lb. from Frontier Herb Co. for $8.90. If you kn ew the strength, and how to make an extract, which I assume is pretty stron g, you could make it yourself. Their phone number for a catalog is: 800-71 7-4372 I hope you can reverse! This sounds very serious! Have you checked into the cell injections? I have no idea where to look but surely there would be information on the internet. Guest guest
Yeah, the way I understood it was that it corrected the way that your body utilized insulin, sometimes to the point that you get off of your meds., but neuropathy, retinopathy, heart disease, renal failure, etc. are all late® stage incidences that stem from habitual high blood sugar, and correcting your liver function may stop (or slow) the progression of these problems, but will it reverse it?? That may be an analogy of taking the knife out of the butcher's hand stopping the chicken from bleeding to death after being beheaded; there's alot better chance, but somewhat unlikely by itself! The magnesium is not only said to be helpful, but also a necessity as it is extremely low from insulin in - magnesium out, and the ones that have signs of late stage diabetic " failures " have a need for at least double the intake of the average person. There's also bitter melon, niacinamide, B6 to help with nerves, GLA and garlic/onions, but restoring the fragile broken vessels i n the eye!??! Keep up the fight, and hopefully all involved can reverse the damage! In Health, Steve ----------------------------- Steve, I don't know about Fanbelt, but here's about me. I did some reading on-line about gymnema sylvestre last week. It is widely used in India and some of the research documents seem to be saying it heals the Pancreas and works with the cells allowing insulin in. I'll be doing a lot more research as I've haven't written anything down yet. As for my diabetes, it was discovered 7 years ago. They immediately gave me pills which continued to throw me into hypoglycemia so they took me off and for the last 7 years I've been okay with diet. Then in April I came up with e-coli (not the extremely dangerous strain). It really did a number on my body though. Immediately I was put back on antibiotics, Glucatrol, and high blood pressure medicine, although my blood pressure was normal for normal people. She also wanted to put me on cholesterol medication and I said " no way " . The Glucatrol had to be adjusted several times and I was feeling awful. I ran out of pills and started to feel better right away so didn't renew them and started looking for natural ways to treat me. Jean (OldGlory) has given me some great leads to follow for research. I'd love to put myself in Doc's care totally, but being on SS just can't afford it right now and, of course, my insurance won't pay for that, but will pay for me to poison my body with man-made stuff. I do continue to go for blood tests to make sure my liver and kidneys are okay. Marti
Guest guest
It will probably help you, but " fanbelt " is the one that I was refering to as she evidently is " further along " than you are. Steve ----------------------------- Steve, I appreciate all ideas. According to the doctor my magnesium level is good. I take that for what it's worth since who knows if a higher level is needed. Also, I have yearly eye checkups to catch the start of anything there. My high blood sugar counts have not been high for very lengthy periods, thank goodness. I'm sure I read on one of the sites that they believe the gymnema sylvestre can reverse the diabetes. I'm going to have to go back and find them all again and read some more. I'm comfortable enough to try gymnema sylvestre and I'll let keep the list updated as I go along. I do know about the bad things that happen with diabetes because my dad developed it in his 60's. He had strokes, several heart by-passes and other problems and pretty much went blind. When he died of a heart attack the official word was he died of diabetes. But, he did not take care of himself. Guest guest
Marti, Sorry all. Thought I was replying to a personal letter. This forum of hitting reply really gets me into trouble at times! I will give you some more information Marti but you will have to write me personally because I can't make my computer write to fanbelt and I can't get any other information on your mailing address. The only way is for you to write me personally at oldglory and then I can hit reply to you.
