Guest guest
Dear Steve, Here is some data that I filed on Stevia. Unfortunately I do not have all the references on where I got it but it may be of some use.............Love Penny sugar powdered stevia liquid st. 1 cup 1 tea. 1 tea 1 tab. 1/4 tea. 6 to 9 drps 1 tea. a pinch to 1/8 tea. 2 to 4 drps I got the recipe from <http://www.fastlane.net/~kirkland/stevia/plant>>> <<< Take six cups of fresh stevia leaves(take the leaves off the stem). Put two cups of water on to boil. when boiling, put the six cups of stevia leaves into the pot. Cover and boil for 3-5 minutes. Remove from heat. Steep for about 20 minutes. Remove the leaves. Squeeze any liquid in them into the pot. Put the liquid 'tea' into a smaller pot and over a low hear reduce the liquid by a half, The end product is a cup of very strong, very sweet liquid stevia extract. I tsp of this extract is about as strong as 5 tsp of sugar.>>>> I have extracted the above from the original article. I would harvest at a full moon and probably the time of year would determine the sweetness of the leaves. However - I tend now -as it grows year round in Florida - to use the fresh leaves.....
