Guest guest
Good Morning! Burdock Root (Arctium lappa) Helps to purify blood and restore the liver to aid in a restful sleep. Helps to reduce build up of toxins in the skin resulting in boils. helps gallbladder functions and stimulates the immune system. Seed forms are also used. Safety: As a food commonly eaten in Japan (it is often found in sukiyaki), burdock root is believed to be safe. However, in 1978, the Journal of the American Medical Association caused a brief scare by publishing a report of burdock poisoning. Subsequent investigation showed that the herbal product involved was actually contaminated with the poisonous chemical atropine from an unknown source. Safety in young children, pregnant or nursing women, or those with severe liver or kidney disease is not established. Dosage: A typical dosage of burdock is 1 to 2 g of powdered dry root 3 times per day. Contraindications: If you are taking insulin or oral medications to reduce blood sugar, it is possible that burdock will increase its effect. Andrew Pacholyk, MS, L.Ac. Guest guest
Hello I have a large burdock plant in my back yard and would like any information on how to get the root. Do you just dig it up and sun dry it or dehydrate it? What is the best way to use burdock? Thanks, Tammyyogiguruji <yogiguruji wrote: Good Morning!Burdock Root (Arctium lappa)Helps to purify blood and restore the liver to aid in a restfulsleep. Guest guest
Hi Andrew Read in " Back to Eden " Jethro Kloss family 2002 edition. Burdock is diuretic, dilapatory, alterative. One of the best blood purifiers. Burdock tea taken freely will heal al kinds of skin diseases, boils and carbuncles. Wonder if it's good for rashes. I have a rash on both sides of my neck. Seeing a dermatologist for it. Lynda http://visit.ws/disabilityinfo. PS. Includes your site.www.peacefulmind.com
