What natural remedies are recommended for hay fever, asthma and food

intolerance syndrome?

Are there any aromatic oils which discourage house dust mites? Are they

discouraged like other insects e.g., by citronella?

Richard,

I can only answer the first part for you as I suffer from hay fever.

Personally I use nettles to control it. This year I have added an

additional step to my routine and it has made a world of differnce to

me. I have started using a netti pot to irrigate my sinuses. It may

help you cope with other allergens better.

Best of luck!

<What natural remedies are recommended for hay fever, asthma and food intolerance syndrome?>Anything that activates your liver and heals the lining of your gut will be

good for the above.

Only YOU, through trial and error, can

find out which foods agree with you and

which don't.

All the herbs in the world won't do you much good if you are for instance allergic to gluten, a common

allergen, and subsist mainly on wheat bread.

Taking a good digestive enzyme formula

is usually helpful.

Some herbs that help the intestinal tract are Slippery Elm bark, Una de Gato (Uncaria Tomentosa) and Sangre

de Drago.

Check out dear Phil Bate's website for

ways to test yourself for sensitivities

etc.

Thank you, Laura - sorry about the delay in replying - visiting this

group is a bit like like going to church for me.

So nettles help - funny, people let them go to waste, and there's so

much of it about. Coincidentally I bought some nettle tea a while

back but haven't braved it - now I can recommend it to the asthmatic

in my family. Only problem is, she is also the intolerant one, and

contrary to political correctness, I find that there is a link

between the two types of intolerance, psychological and physical, and

trying anything new is in itself likely to be a problem for her.

And why did I suffer so long before hearing of netti pots, and never

hear of what appears to be the simplest, most obvious solution to

sinus irritation until my 44th year?

What a weird world which needs the complicated Net to catch the

simplest of remedies!
