Natural Approaches to Insomnia

Hi everyone,

There are so many effective, all natural approaches to insomnia. I

think it's important to take a closer look at the core issues behind

not sleeping well. This allows you to address the cause AND the

affect.

Homeopathics are a great approach for insomnia and healing at the

origin. No contraindications to be concerned with, very inexpensive

and available at any vitamin or health food store. First however,

it's necessary to get in touch with the reasons behind those

sleepless nights.

We often just want to take a pill and " make it go away " . But, if we

don't examine the reason for the imbalance in the first place, we

have only masked or put a " band-aid " on the real issue. Be assured

that taking this approach will only lend temporary relief.

Is your mind racing? Worry, anxiety, stress? What about dietary

issues like caffeine (including chocolate and soda), sugar, processed

foods, etc.? Are you getting enough exercise? Is your

biological " clock " off due to shift work or regular travel? Is your

insomnia hormonal and related to either menopause or andropause?

(Don't think you're too young! Many women are experiencing early

menopause these days. There are several women in Holistic Menopause

in their early to mid 30's with hormone related insomnia.)

Because there are so many different possibilities, what works well

for one might not do a thing for another. A cup of tea or warm milk

(triptophan) before bed might bring great results for some, while

others might do best with Melatonin. Valerian works great for many,

but makes my mind chatter all night. We're all unique, and so are our

reasons for not sleeping well at night.

Urging you to listen to the messages your body gives you, and treat

the cause as much as the symptoms for lasting positive results.

All the best,

Michelle
