Guest guest
Hi Teamchoices, I really don't mean to be confrontive here. Really! But, I do feel inspired to speak up re: your advertising campaign in this group. As a professional, full-time network marketer during much of the 90's, I'm very aware of the industry. Made lots of money, rose to the top 20 in my company, and lost it all when the owner decided to go live in Tahiti. I have spent 28 years of my life taking classes, studying, practicing and paying my dues big time to become what you call a " wellness consultant " . I completed studies at Coach University in 1997 to the tune of nearly $4,000, which is a drop in the bucket compared to years of classes, workshops and certification programs. Because I don't like the word " coach " (everybody's a " coach " ) I call myself a " Holistic Consultant " . I feel 100% qualified to use that title based on my certifications, experience, and qualifications not only as a coach, but as a holistic health practitioner. I guess my point is... ANYONE willing to pay the money and work like crazy can become an MLM distributor. Anyone, whether they know jack about health or being an effective " consultant " or not. No skills are required to be an MLM distributor. That's why so many are drawn to it. This is NOT intended to suggest you have no skills Teamchoices. I'm sure you do and are gaining more daily. Still, it kind of reminds me of people who pay to get a bogus diploma to give themselves an unearned title, while others of us legitimately work our butts off. " Wellness Consultant " does sound much better than MLM distributor though, and certainly creates more positive and professional associations. Again, I really don't mean to offend you. I know you're intentions are good. I guess that " wellness consultants wanted " just ruffled my feathers this morning. Thanks for listening, Michelle
Guest guest
Michelle, thanks for asking why I should be here... First, I commend you on your efforts. I too have been down a very long path, 22 years now, of education in the health care and wellness arenas. First I have been a nurse since age 19. I was working on my PhD in Nursing at the University of Arizona when I became involved in Nikken. I have been in the forefront of the hospice industry for 15 years at that point. Lobbying for hospice rights and reverse mortgage rights along with owning a nurse staffing agency. You see Nikken is one of the top providers of health technologies in Japan, the healthiest country in the world. They are in 1 in 8 homes by brand name and have a 30 year track record of bringing the latest technologies from around the world. They have moved their world headquarter to the US to address the major health concerns here and worldwide, 36 countries currently. They have partnered with the University of California, Irvine to help change the face of health care. That is why many 1000's of health care professionals are joining Nikken. To be apart of that change. That is why I joined. It truly does give a quality of life that as a nurse alone was not possible. The Gift of Balance is Transferable! 5Pillars.com December, 2000 Joseff Boyer, of Tucson, Arizona, was a hospice nurse for 15 years. As an intern, he also ran a staffing agency. "I became a nurse to impact people's lives," Joseff remembers. "But my career seemed to impact me more than anyone else." Lots of Work = Lots of Stress Joseff's business and school schedule were overwhelming. "I worked 80+ hours per week. By the end of the day, I didn't have any energy. I felt out of balance with my body and community. My finances were less than desirable too!" Joseff continued to focus on his career. "See, I loved my business. The problem was that I wasn't willing or able to recognize how out of balance my business had made me." Injury Leads to Revelation Joseff believed he had everything in life he wanted. Then, in 1998, he suffered an accident which left him with a serious shoulder injury. Which is when Joeseff discovered Nikken*. "Originally, I was intrigued by Nikken's superior technologies. But what gave me the push to start my own Nikken business was the philosophy of balanced living. I realized just how out of balance my life was!" Focus on Balance Now, Joseff devotes the time and attention required to achieving balance in the areas of life that matter most to him. "I work my business 20 hours a week. I take better care of my body. In the near future, my improved finances will enable me to make generous donations to my community. It's amazing how different our past appears when we make decisions that positively affect the future." For everything he has accomplished, one of Joseff's greatest achievements is understanding that his new-found balance is transferable: "Now I influence family members with the concept of overall balance. All in all, I've been given a gift, a gift I freely share with everyone I meet. Nikken has given me a gift that increases when I give it away." *Nikken is an international manufacturer and marketer of wellness products ($1.5 billion in sales in more than 20 countries). Guest guest
Dear "Life Choices" (What is your name?) I am asking this as a fellow network marketer. Robin from Mannatech, this is for you too. I have the highest regard for both Mannatech and Nikken. Good solid companies with unique products that do indeed change people's lives. But please! Don't abuse these groups! There is a difference between mentioning your stuff once in a while, when it is relevant, and placing posts that are blatant ads and nothing but ads. Robin, you must be new to the net. Did you know that posting all caps is not only hard to read, it is considered shouting? Most people on lists profoundly dislike the MLM industry precisely because of this kind of behavior. This list has been very open and tolerant of people mentioning their networked products. On some lists any whiff of marketing gets you thrown out. So let's behave ourselves, allright? There are plenty of opportunities to strut your stuff in context when it is relevant. I had no idea that cherry juice could contain melatonin! That was interesting. To everyone else: Please keep this in mind. Any person who recommends an MLM product is at least using it herself! And as far as I know all bona fide MLM companies offer generous money-back guarantees. Try and find that in your local pharmacy. Anyone who is wondering what this is about can read a quick explanation of what the H is this MLM thing by clicking here: mlm If the link is not blue just send a blank email to mlm Ien in the Kootenays******************************************"The world is as you dream it.But your dream has become a nightmare. What you need is a new dream."Amazon Shaman, quoted in UtneOne good dream: http://theforestpath.com*********************************
