Guest guest
Linda asked: Anybody have a cure for chronic neck muscle tension and vertebrae that keep slipping - or being pulled - out of place? Linda Linda, Are you getting any body work? Chiropractic, Reflexology, OrthoBionomy, Reiki, take your pick. Everyone should get some at least once a month, just for maintenance. For emergency stress relief, take 2 tennis balls and put them in a sock, tie the works with a rubber band. Or used rolled-up socks that make the same size. Now lay down on the floor with the balls in the hollows under your skull. Relax, and breath deeply. Eventually (it may take a bit) you will achieve a still point: the rhythm of your blood circulation and the circulation of cranio-sacral fluid will coincide. This deeply relaxing, harmonizing, and may allow the body to re-align itself. Much nicer than the tennis balls: ask a helper to stand behind you, and cup your head in her hands with the middle fingers holding the hollows. Most comfortable in a recliner seat with the helper on a stool behind you. You can also buy a rubber "still point inducer". The balls can also be used on other points of the spine. I have a friend who is a carpenter, hard on the back. He used to be a mess, and see the chiropractor a lot. He claims to have fixed himself many times using his back balls. Also helpful: a good liniment that helps with both pain and healing. Of course I am partial to "Recovazon Gel". It is warming, soothing, very relaxing and does something beyond that. I can feel it softening and flowing as soon as I put it on. I have different colour scarves - sometimes I pick an orange one, sometimes a deep sea green one, it depends which one calls to me at the time. Like a loving touch ... Guest guest
There seems to be a language in which our bodies speak to us that I would call metaphor. People who are hard hearted get CAD. People who don't speak up for themselves when they should develope thyroid problems. Feeling betrayed might manifest itself as a pain like 'being stabbed in the back'. A pain in the neck denotes an attitude of being irritable, which is to say everything is a pain in the neck to you. The same goes with sciatica, only your language is 'a pain in the ass'. People with chronic back pain are also people who shoulder more responsibility than is theirs. They are the camels getting their backs broken. Believe me when I say it takes one to know one. I was cripled with pain untill I took this approach. By changing my attitude I have not had to do anything extra for my back in years now.
