Guest guest
Hello, I'm doing research for a person who needs to use 2 type inhaler pumps for most of every winter. She says she had asthma, but no longer does. That she suffers from Bronchospasms. I've researched this online and only find references to it under 2 conditions: 1) related to asthma 2) exercise-induced, and this person doesn't exercise. Any knowledge about this would be very appreciated. Also, it might be helpful to know that she has no problems all summer. But as soon as the school year begins (she's a teacher) and she catches the slightest cold, she needs to use Flovent (a corticosteroid) and Ventalin in a *preventative* manner, so that the cold/flu doesn't turn into a secondary infection such as sinusitis or sometimes bronchitis. She ends up needing antibiotics off and on most of the winter and this is not helping her get a grip on tackling her general health problems (needs to lose weight due to knee problems and to prevent weight-related illnesses as she gets older). Her convalesence from all colds is extremely long. She is originally from a tropical climate and is always cold here in Canada. Her thyroid is in the low range of normal and she got tired of taking thyroid meds if not necessary. It's become a vicious cycle where she can get a better grip on the whole situation in summer, but once the first gusts of damp cold autumn arrive, she is coughing and needs a scarf around her throat at all times, hates to go outside and thus gets little exercise (too often sick to be worth investing in registration where she could continue swimming and too many knee problems to work on machines like treadmill, bike, etc). So in the summer she walks and swims and begins losing weight but gets setback each autumn and really needs help to turn this around. Thanks in advance, Suzan
