Guest guest
Hi Placid, As I understand it through my research..... There are those that believe that endo is caused by unbalanced hormones and there are those that believe the same regarding fibro. Studies have shown that women who have endo are more likely to develop fibro...I think they are 3 to 4 times more likely to do so. No definitive link has been shown and no one can explain the " why this might be factor " , but the studies have shown that a probable link exsists. These are the symptoms that peri-menopause/menopause (natural or surgically induced), endometriosis and fibromyalgia share: (Not all women who have these conditions will experience all these symptoms) 1. Hot flashes, flushes, night sweats and/or cold flashes, clammy feeling 2. Bouts of rapid heart beat 3. Irritability 4. Mood swings, sudden tears 5. Trouble sleeping through the night (with or without night sweats) 7. Loss of libido (see note) 8. Dry vagina, a general drying out that can include eyes, mouth, joints and skin. (see note) 9. Crashing fatigue 10. Anxiety, feeling ill at ease 11. Feelings of dread, apprehension, doom (see note) 12. Difficulty concentrating, disorientation, mental confusion 13. Disturbing memory lapses 15. Itchy, crawly skin (see note) 16. Aching, sore joints, muscles and tendons (see note) 17. Increased tension in muscles 18. Breast tenderness 19. Headache change: increase or decrease 20. Gastrointestinal distress, indigestion, flatulence, gas pain, nausea* 21. Sudden bouts of bloat* (*many/most fibro patients also exhibit symptoms of Irritable Bowel Syndrome) 22. Depression (see note) 23. Exacerbation of existing conditions 25. Weight gain (see note) 27. Dizziness, light-headedness, episodes of loss of balance 29. Electric shock sensation under the skin and in the head (see note) 30. Tingling in the extremities, (see note) 32. Burning tongue, burning roof of mouth, bad taste in mouth, dry mouth, change in breath odor 34. Changes in fingernails: softer, crack or break easier 35. Tinnitus: ringing in ears, bells, 'whooshing' buzzing etc. Here are a few links relating to the topic: http://www.clinicaltrials.gov/ct/gui/show/NCT00073801?order=2 --- ---------- http://www.endospot.net/ --- ---------- http://66.102.7.104/search? q=cache:ZN3DNyphID0J:www3.oup.co.uk/eshre/press- release/freepdf/172715.pdf+%22endometriosis+%2B+fibromyalgia%22 & hl=en --- ---------- Hope this gives you a starting point. Guest guest
Hello. I am new to this group. I am searching so hard for answers to my problems and I think I am in the throes of severe perimenopause symptoms. I don't know how to get through this. Its just awful and I want it all to just go away. I keep crying and not sleeping, and not sleeping, even with sleeping pills, makes it really bad. I have been on antidepressants for many many years, but now all of a sudden, they don't seem to help this at all. I have a history of depression and anxiety disorder, but its all been under control, or so I thought. Now I have the really bad hot flashes, anxiety like crazy, I feel like I am losing my mind, I can't go to work, I feel like I can't go on, not sleeping, and the worst part is that the symptoms will just START and last for like 4 or 5 days and then go away. I do think they are cyclic.. I am finally journaling, but this is the first time I remember going into the severe throes of it at ovulation. I am doing all the vitamins and EFA's.. teas, essential oils.. nothing is helping. I did have a sonogram yesterday and they indicated some thickening of my endometrium and small bumps possibly as well. Can this be contributing? Please help. I want to jump off a bridge! Guest guest
Hi Judi, You can try this, download this wav file http://www.geocities.com/rajamusti/akursi.wav (details at http://www.geocities.com/rajamusti/akursi.htm) and play on your pc speakers repetitively listening to it with concentration for 1 hour in morning and one hour before bed. You can record on cassete or mp3 player and listen to it via headphone. You can also play it when the depression gets bad. Try it for about 3 to 7 weeks at least. It usually goes into a cycle of ups and downs as you listen to it and grudually decrease in intensity as time goes by. Try and concentrate on the meaning as you listen to it (http://www.geocities.com/rajamusti/akursi.htm) Mansur http://www.geocities.com/rajamusti/ http://persis.biz , " Judi Lainer " <bunsnpigs@a...> wrote: > Hello.
