Guest guest
Good Morning! Love and Respect for Yourself " Self-love: The term self-love is used in a twofold sense: 1. It denotes the longing for good or for well-being. The love of one's self; desire of personal happiness; tendency to seek one's own benefit or advantage, neither good nor evil. 2. It is applied to a voluntary regard for the gratification of special desires. In this sense it is morally good or bad according as these desires are conformed to duty or opposed to it. Self-Love is NOT Selfishness. Selfishness is always voluntary and always wrong, being that regard to our own interests, gratification, which is sought or indulged at the expense, and to the injury, of others. " So long as self-love does not degenerate into selfishness, it is quite compatible with true benevolence. " -Fleming. " Not only is the phrase self-love used as synonymous with the desire of happiness, but it is often confounded with the word selfishness, which certainly, in strict propriety, denotes a very different disposition of mind. " ----Slewart. Self-love is probably the most important love we can do for ourselves AND others. It is very important that we love ourselves, first. When this truly occurs, the Universe allows all things to fall in to place very nicely! Self-love can often be found by doing something that brings out the passion in our lives. Doing exactly what it is that makes us happy. When we follow the path that we long to follow, we can always find this love in ourselves. It is this passion which gives us reason in our lives. It allows us to " see " the reasoning behind why we are here in the first place. The renewal and invigoration received from doing the activities why find absolute passion in, is so vital to the quality and performance in all aspects of the rest of our lives, that without this " fire " for our creative soul's desire, all else positive in our lives begins to diminish and become depressed. When something is so wonderfully important to our overall well-being, it is essential that we pursue it! We can accept no more love than we are willing to give ourselves. We create our own reality. Gratitude is a self-fulfilling prophecy. Openess and honesty are essential. Self examination is the only way to know. To live feeling fully alive is our own choice and responsibility. There are many examples of people living their passions from many different walks of life and conditions of circumstance. These choices re-affirm the love and respect for ourselves. Having the courage and determination to feel good is our personal business. Deciding to feel good, to whatever degree we can manage, is the most important decision that we can make. Spending even a few moments each day doing something that simply delights us, increases our feeling of well-being and makes it easier to do even more of our soul's passion and allows us to find the confidence to love and respect ourselves that much more. To Believe in ourselves is a powerful thing. The Universe supports ALL that WE CHOOSE to Believe. Learning how to think in affirmations that are positive is a great way to continue to love ourselves! These are statements that you make either aloud or to yourself. So bring your love and light to others by truly loving and respecting yourself, first.
