Guest guest
Depends a lot on the age of the child, what other medical conditions are happening, and certain environmental factors. Both colloidal silver and mullien flower oil have been used with effectiveness on some kids, but neither of these work consistently in all cases. That's why the other conditions are important, and why there needs to be an environmental check if the situation is chronic. If you use mullein flower oil, it does need to be refrigerated. And then it needs to be warmed up before putting some in the ear, or else your kid will really scream! Guest guest
My $00.02 -- I know that garlic oil works, and in my experience it works very well, but I also know that you *MUST* dilute it to avoid causing severe burns (garlic's some strong stuff). Guest guest
Don't know the ratio for dilution. To make your own garlic oil, peel and chop 1 cup of garlic and place in a pint jar. Fill with cold pressed olive oil to 1 inch below the top. Let soak for 2 weeks then strain the oil through a cheese cloth and refrigerate. As well as its internal healing properties, garlic oil is a tried and true home remedy for earaches. It is even sold commercially now. To ease earache place 2 drops of garlic oil on a cotton ball in the ear overnight. Guest guest
Excellent suggestions. Thanks Erin! Regarding the oranges and bananas, they are very mucous forming foods. My acupuncturist's kids suffered from ear infections like crazy when they were kids, and as soon as she stopped feeding them those mandarin oranges in the winter (tangerines?) they cleared up! I know that I get all clogged up when I eat them, which is one reason why I rarely often do. There's a lot to be said for eating locally and in season! ILANA xoxo ErinJC23 wrote: Ive never heard that about bananas and oranges! Thanks for the information! Sometimes it's not diet though. It wasn't with my son, or at least we dont think so. We never allowed him to eat dairy from the start, because I had always read about the ear thing and how 80 to 90% is from milk products, and how bad milk products are, ect ect. We also didnt let him eat red meat or processed foods...etc, but when he first went to daycare he got his first earache ( or I should say "clog", his ears never hurt bad during all the time they were just completely full ) and second cold in his life - and bam! - ear tubes nine months later (sigh) I havent heard of the concoction youre talking about, but a mixture of garlic in warm olive oil and mullein oil (steeped in olive) is good. I have used it before for myself and it worked wonders. Some people also have used st johns wort infused oil, weak solution of chamomile tea. (although I dont think the last one would be effective enough for a bad ache, maybe an "irritation".) Hydrogen peroxide is SO overlooked. Hospitals use this, it has been used for years at home - yet many dont mention it or overlook it. A friend pointed this out to me - she used perxide in her ears often and it helps. A little in the ear, let bubbly and foam, and then clean out. Can help relieve stuffiness, pressure, sanitize, remove excess wax and moisture, build up of gunk deep within, pus, etc. If worst comes to worst she may want to try ear candling someday Erin Federal Law requires that we warn you of the following: 1. Guest guest
dairy (YES, ALL dairy), > oranges (including orange juice) and bananas (was just talking Yup, yup and yup! Not supposed to eat tropical foods outside of tropical regions. I was told oranges are hybrid and that is why I believe they are not much good to anyone. (same as white flour and whole wheat)I never gave my daughter orange juice it is SUCH a high allergy food. I have seen such severe reactions to orange juice. One was like the child had ADHD, even worse. The other would wake with severe nightmares every night. She was 2. Her Dr. wanted to put her on sleeping pills. A 2 year old!! I asked them what she ate or drank before bed and they said orange juice. I told them to stop, they did, although they didn't believe me, they were desperate for their daughter, when they stopped giving it to her, her night mares stopped completely. Dairy is the main reason for ear infections although it can also be due to mold. Actually white and whole wheat attribute to ear infections as well. Wheat has many strange affects on people from dislexia, severe mood swings, migrains, and deep depression, to narclepsy. Dairy is VERY mucus forming, as is white flour, whole wheat, mushrooms and ect. Louie Pasture himself announced before his death he made a mistake with the germ theory and homogenized milk. I have not only noticed sinus, asmtha, acne, baldness and ect from heavy to moderate milk drinkers, but they normally are the ones with low bone density, bad teeth, bad hearts (more from calcium deficiency than fat), and they have usually had at least one broken bone in their lifetime. I believe that it actually robs the body of calcium. Sally Rockwell did her PhD thesis on homogenized milk. She now offers it for sale on her website. She says that the more process the milk goes through, the worse it is. And that the processes it goes through involves aluminum screens so each process adds more aluminum to the " milk " . There was a study with cats and milk....they took 10 cats living together and fed them only homogenized milk and 10 others also living together, were fed only raw milk. They had to stop the experiement after the third generation. Seems the cats that were fed homogenized milk's third generation of kittens were born with terrible birth defects and dead, while the cats fed raw milk were fine. We the people, are on our third generation of homogenized milk!!!! We use raw, rice or almond milk. Funny thing is in all the farms I have gotten raw milk from, (I travel extensively) they always tell me how much more healthy and allergy free their kids are in comparrison to the " regular " milk drinkers. If my daughter gets ahold of anything with dairy in it, that isn't raw, she will be very ill all night. Yet she can have as much raw milk as she wants. Homemade ice cream with raw milk is awsome! My daughter has never had an ear infection in her entire life. I pull my dogs off of foods that contain wheat when they show frequent ear infections. Tell their owners to switch foods to no corn (another very hybrid food), no wheat. I use Colloidal Silver in the ear for infections, takes the pain right away. bt
Guest guest
A common folk remedy is to make a warm oil out of garlic cloves and apply a drop in the ear. I usually just crush three cloves or so and pour about a half cup oil over it and let it sit for a few hours.karly <karly11us wrote: I have use 1 tbsp. olive oil with 6 drops tea treeoil...put some drops of this mix in the ear and letsit 10 minutes then drain. Guest guest
I think they pasteurize it everywhere. Otherwise it couldn't sit on the shelf. My feeling is that pasteurization is pretty much synonymous with industrialization. If you buy your milk at the supermarket then it's pasteurized. If the milk man delivers it or you get it straight from the farm then perhaps not. I just know that here ALL milk is pasteurized, no options. I guess a good test would be to see if the cream separates from your milk. That is the way milk used to come. But maybe that's just homogenization, not pasteurization. They're two different processes. Maybe you can find answer on www.notmilk.com? ILANA xoxo Katherine Huether wrote: I live in Germany, I never even looked into finding raw milk! I bet I could. Guest guest
Does anyone have a natural cure for ear infections? My 20 year old son, who had a lot of ear infections as a baby, and then didn't have any for several years, is now getting them again. He had a runny nose yesterday and this morning woke up with a lot of pressure and pain in and around one ear. I'd like to avoid the antibiotics that his doctor always gives him. Thank you! Guest guest
Hi Linda, Sounds like allergies. We put hydrogen peroxide in our ears and it's done a wonderful job of preventing colds in my husband and I. Pour a small amount and let it fizz. I usually do about 20 minutes an ear. I'm not sure how it would feel with an ear infection and he may want to try it out when his ear is feeling better. I think it would be okay though. Just make sure it is warm for him. Sounds weird, but it works wonders. We also have 4 kids and so we have cold viruses through our house frequently, yet most of us don't get sick. all the best Lisa ·.»§« ·´¯`·.,¸¸,.·´¯`·.»§« please include ss tag thank you·.»§« ·´¯`·.,¸¸,.·´¯`·.»§« © Spiritually_Speaking spiritually_speaking- : )
Guest guest
What has worked wonders for me is finely chopped garlic, made into a small sachet that will fit in the ear, made with 3-4 layers of gauze and a rubberband. I was told by a naturopath to use it for between 2-8 hours, for 10 days, then every 2nd day for another 10 days. I do this at the first sign of earache and haven't needed antibiotics for about 9 years, whereas I used to need them for my ears 3-4 times every winter, even though I'm an adult. My eustachian tube on the left side is shaped like a child's and I am a preschool teacher, so I used to get them as frequently as the kids. hope this helps, Suzan --- lindabumpas <lindabumpas wrote: > Does anyone have a natural cure for ear > infections? Guest guest
This man produces a wide variety of Essential Oils, one specially designed for chronic ear infections. I bought some for a friend whose daughter suffers chronic earaches. She seemed to respond to it well. You simply dab a small portion under the ear and in the canal until symptoms subside. Good luck! Guest guest
Ok the key word and problem here is " meds " . Medications prevent her from becoming immune to the virus or bacteria causing the issue. Most ear infections can be attributed to one of two things: milk and viruses. I'd be willing to wager if you get dairy out of her life the ear infections would vanish. But even if it wasn't caused by dairy but a virus--well then--antibiotics aren't doing a darned bit of good, are they? I've been there done that when I was more conventional. My son ended up having severe ADHD thanks to all those antibiotics--but that's another topic! LOL Go to the store and buy garlic oil (or make your own) and the next time she has an ear infection, use the garlic oil. It will kill the pain and garlic is a natural antibacteria/antiviral medicine. But your main concern is the pain.. we hate to see them in pain!! And the garlic oil will stop the pain. Other than that.. let her ride it out. Treat the pain and let it go so that she can build a resistance to it. With my 4th child.. after repeated infections, I finally was given this info and did it. I let her ride the fever out (because fever is good for you; not bad) and she never got another ear infection again. She's 7 now--she was 4months at that point. > I have been just a lurker here but now I have a question. Guest guest
Dear Jayne, Just as we discussed gum disease/infections the same holds true here for ear infections. We cannot diagnose and give treatment advice, but here are some thoughts in general. Any ear infection that lasts any length of time is telling you that there is something wrong with the strength of the natural integrety of the body and the immune system. I take it that other people close to a person infected are not getting the infection. Why not? Probably this person's system does not have the strength to ward it off. The continued use of antibiotics is usually couterproductive because the problem is the natural resistance of the body isn't strong enough to stop the infection and to use antibiotics is to add artificial killing power only temporarily while they are being administered. They never kill all of the infection 100%, so when the drugs are stopped, the infection comes back to full force or greater. Since the real problem is usually the natural resistance necessary to combat bugs that come along everyday, I would suggest that anyone build up the biological integrety/resistance/immune sytem. That cannot be done with drugs. In fact drugs tear down the natural integrety/resistance/immune system and make the person more prone to infection. The body also needs to be able to work to make natural antibodies to the specific invader. Once it does that, the protection is not temporary, but permanent. We can apply something topically like garlic oil, tea tree oil, oregano oil, etc. and give a healthy diet and supplement with good vitamins, minerals, etc. The body is designed to protect itself from most all bugs that we encounter in life, if we are nutritionally prepared to do sowhich gives us a strong constitution/resistance/immunity, and then we try to not interfere and to leave the body alone and not get in the way so that it can do it's job. This is he basic remedy for much of natural healing. It is a very simple system but it works and has worked for millions of years now. Education not medication. Please use the links page to learn. regards, Frank , " jaynefoss " <JayneFoss@a...> wrote: > I have been just a lurker here but now I have a question.
