Guest guest
A nutritional supplement called DMAE (dimethyl amino-ethanol) is really good for this. It is available in capsules or a drink-mix powder. A good multivitamin or B-compex should also be considered as well. -Larry Claire [cboker] Monday, January 19, 2004 7:02 PM Subject: ADD ADHD ChildHI all,My son Matan, 9 years old, has not been medically diagnosed as being ADHD but his school has given us adn his teachers a Conners (sp?) survey that we have filled out (both us, his parents, and his teachers) and it seems to point to ADHD. I do not want to take him to be diagnosed. I don't want to hear the doctor reccommend Ritalin. A couple of months ago I started Matan on 6 Bach Flower Remedies. It seemed to do the trick and he seemed calmer and more focussed at school and at home. The problem now is that Matan is forgetting to take his drops. Guest guest
Claire, this is what transformed my ADD son. He was later "diagnosed". A big joke but that is another matter. He is in college now and called to beg me for another bottle. I am not exagerating when I say he is a different person when he gets it. I will take the time now to write his story out, again. But first: AFA, Foundational Food What is AFA? AFA is short for Aphanizomenon Flos Aquae, which means invisible water flower. It is an edible blue-green alga, growing wild in Upper Klamath Lake, Oregon. You may have heard of it under brand names like Aquazon or SuperBlueGreen Algae Simply "The Algae" to its many devoted fans. Did you know that all life on earth started with blue-green algae? This is the very foundation of the food chain! What can it do for you? Eaters of AFA have reported: *More energy *Greater resistance to illness *Better mood *Better focus, helpful for ADHD *Relief from food cravings *Better skin and hair *Improved blood sugar management *Relief from allergy and asthma *Relief from side effects of chemo"therapy" *Relief from arthritic aches and pains *Amazing feats of regeneration in cases of degenerative disease like MS. Please note: these are individual testimonials and do not constitute a medical claim. However, since the mid nineties various scientific studies have been undertaken to support and explain the anecdotal data. More detail on these studies can be found in the booklet "Primordial Food" by C. Drapeau. To receive a copy send $5 by PayPal to ien I'll pay the shipping. What's in it? AFA is the world's most complete, most perfect food. Best of all: the body recognizes it as FOOD. Ask yourself: were you designed to absorb ground-up rocks, vitamins extracted from Earth knows what, and isolated amino acids that may be in the wrong balance? Interestingly, many of the proportions in AFA are similar to those in human breast milk. This is the case with the essential fatty acid profile. AFA is a rich source of Omega 3 EFAs. AFA is an excellent source of easily absorbed amino acids, again in a balanced, bio-available form. In fact, the amino acid profile of AFA is in nearly the same proportion required by humans! Vitamins from A to Z AFA is especially high in the total complex of B vitamins, and beta carotenes. B vitamins must be in the right balance, or one can actually induce a shortage of one by ingesting too much of another. Minerals, and trace minerals Did you know that the US senate was worried about the lack of minerals in the food supply way back in 1936? What do you think happened since then? Without minerals, vitamins are useless. Trace minerals are essential for good health, but are tricky to supplement with. Again, it is easy to get the balance wrong. AFA gets its mineral content from the rich volcanic sediment of the lake bed. The minerals are chelated and fully bio-available. PEA, the molecule of joy AFA is a rich source of PhenylEthylAmine, the same ingredient that makes chocolate a feel-good substance. PhycoCyanin, natural anti-inflammatory The blue pigment is anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory. PhycoCyanin turns out to be a natural cox2 inhibitor. To sum up: You name it, it's in there. There is more to AFA than just a bunch of useful nutrients. The whole is greater than the sum of the parts. AFA is a Gift from the Living Earth. This energetic aspect is especially important to people like Indigo children, who have often benefited from AFA. How does it work? Experience and observation always come before explanation, theory and proof. We often know THAT something works long before we understand HOW it works. After all, folks knew that stuff falls down long before Newton explained the laws of gravity! Research in this life-giving substance is ongoing. It looks like AFA may stimulate the mobilization of adult bone marrow stem cells, the ultimate regeneration system! Read more on this here: www.stemcellresearch.org/facts/Jensen_and_Drapeau.pdf The real research takes place in your body. Try some AFA from a good source, like Aquazon from Amazon Herb Company, and see for yourself if you too experience: *More energy *Greater resistance to illness *Better mood *Better focus, helpful for ADHD *Relief from food cravings *Better skin and hair *Improved blood sugar management *Relief from allergy and asthma *Relief from side effects of chemo"therapy" *Relief from arthritic aches and pains. Guest guest
-Greetings, I find that getting a child to remember to take Bach flowers is tough. However can you send him to school with one of those little bottles of water or juice? You could put his personal recipe in the bottle and just tell him to drink his juice or water. Then you can give it to him directly in the morning and evening. Many people have had success with applying the remedies topically to their wrists or throat (no dilution). If you look in on Matan after he goes to sleep maybe you could apply his personal recipe that way so he would have gotten it 4 times a day. Good luck Gail -- In , " Claire " <cboker@r...> wrote: > HI all, > > My son Matan, 9 years old, has not been medically diagnosed as being > ADHD but his school has given us adn his teachers a Conners (sp?) > survey that we have filled out (both us, his parents, and his > teachers) and it seems to point to ADHD. Guest guest
I think your son is too young to be in charge of taking his drops. You should make sure that he gets them according to some set schedule until he's about 12. I know he's probably exceptionally smart and independent for his age but until he gets a little older and he starts having his own routine and control over his own movement and decisions, just give him the medicine so you can make sure he gets it. Anything but Ritalin. Its a soul killer. I worked for the Administration for Children's Services in New York and 90% of children in my cases ended up being put on those medications without any consideration for how it will affect them later. ~Essa Claire <cboker wrote: HI all,My son Matan, 9 years old, has not been medically diagnosed as being ADHD but his school has given us adn his teachers a Conners (sp?) survey that we have filled out (both us, his parents, and his teachers) and it seems to point to ADHD. Guest guest
-Hi Claire, I hear you loud and clear - yet another thing to be responsible for. I didnt ask how old Matan is but even adults forget to take their Bach flowers. They work so well that people forget they had a reason to take them in the first place. Thats why I proposed only making him responsible for 1 treatment and making that one enjoyable so he won't notice. The post bedtime one on the wrists is great too. They don't have to be awakened to do it. Good luck with this Gail -- In , " Claire " <cboker@r...> wrote: > Hi Gail and thank you for your reply. Guest guest
We had luck with our son giving him minerals. He wwas extremly deficient . I had battled with the schools for 5 years. I told them it was the herbal way or no way....He got bored easily. It was the method in which he was taught. He's a hands on learner. Did wonderful in Science last year, but is struggling this year. It's all book work now. He has improved with age also. IF schools try to force you to medicate, tell them if they will sign a notarized affidavite that THEY will take full fincial responsibility if your child needs rehab later, you will. They won't sign..LOL Good luck, Susan- In , itsjustara@a... wrote: > Peace, > My son has jus had the same test results come back. and no, Im believing > with you... Taking this addictive drug makes you more easily addicted to illegal drugs. One of the withdrawal symptoms of Ritalin is suicidal tendencies btw. There's no way I'd let anyone put my kid on it, and I'd sit my kid down and explain to him how hard he needs to develop self-control in the classroom so they don't try force it on him. Shows you how powerful the drug industry has become in the United States.********************************************* WWW.PEACEFULMIND.COM Sponsors Alternative Answers-HEALING NATURALLY- this is the premise of HOLISTIC HEALTH. Guest guest
Not that I am recomending medication, but my kid is on strattera (sp?) and adderal. The adderal takes away her desire to eat however. I'm going to look in to the Bach Flower stuff.
Guest guest
Thanks Essa, I've made an appointment with a Naturopath for next week and I thinkn we need to make drastic diet changes as well as give him some alternative medicine. We'll see what the Naturopath says after she sees him. Claire , Essentially Divine <perfectcipher> wrote: > I think your son is too young to be in charge of taking his drops. Its a soul killer. I worked for the Administration for Children's Services in New York and 90% of children in my cases ended up being put on those medications without any consideration for how it will affect them later. > ~Essa

Guest guest
Just so you know, strattera is the same thing as ritalin and adderall was taken off the market in the 70's as a diet drug due to liver damage. I would deffinitly try something else..........--- In , " tyshi.geo " <tyshi.geo> wrote: > Not that I am recomending medication, but my kid is on strattera > (sp?) and adderal. Guest guest
Gail wrote about Bach drops "They work so well that people forget they had a reason to take them in the first place" Haha! That is a frequent reason why people fall off the wagon with any health program! They forget how miserable they were before. It is human nature to ignore the body untill something breaks down, and to go right back to ignoring it the moment it stops actively hurting or malfunctioning. There is usually a time lag. People can get away with not using their supplements for a little while. Unfortunately, by the time they are back to a miserable square one, they have forgotten how good they felt when they were taking their super foods! Both of my duaghters were on Ritalin, Adderal, Nortriptolyne, Concerta for their Narcolepsy. I've found a wellness company and am now using their vitamins and supplements. I've also changed my cleaning products from toxic and carcigen based chemicals to natural products. Both the girls are now off of the meds completely. I'd be happy to share the info with you.
